DEEP THOUGHT's opinions are irrational and you are compounding the situation by your sweeping generalization. From your moniker, you are based in the USA. How will you feel to be subjected to the predicament of being tarred with the same brush because of the shortcomings of a black person just because you are black.

Speech or what we articulate (verbally) derives from our thought processes. However normative values preclude us from free speech that is irrational and may invite a corresponding response leading a vicious circle.

Don't you think the endeavor to level the political playing field by the establishment of a radio station (involving monetary outlay) to counter the "alleged distortions" of the NPP is a contribution enough, or is this gesture inadequate because it flies in the face of your political leanings?.

If you dig deeper, you will discover that those who wield power in the USA are those with the monetary clout. They are in the background but ultimately hold sway in the final decisions made. It is not the native Americans but the Jews who are credited with this because they are the captains of finance, commerce and industry.

If it will cheer you up, this reminds me of a young man in Ghana in the early 1970s whose arrival or presence determines the fate of a family meeting during Christmas or Easter because of his wealth. Why? Because he who controls the purse holds sway.

Look,I am not prejudiced - there's not an ounce of that in my body- against these Middle Easterners. I think they are hard working and disciplined business men and women. And,they have been for ages. Like the Hassans'- cocoa buyers- at Suhum. Matter of fact one of their descendants happen to be the current Governor in the State of New Hampshire - currently running for US Senate.

But have you noticed how these guys have gotten Ghana and many West African nation's economy over a barrel over so many years? Of course,that started way before there was a Ghana.
You've heard the Akan word "awam"- meaning fake. It's a derivative of the association of west African merchants. - a monopoly and a brain-child of these same Lebanese and Syrian merchants that was set up to control Gold Coast and,in some form , Ghana's, economy.
Have you noticed that the contract for the sole distributorship of "cube sugar"- the one in the blue box- hasn't changed hands since it appeared on our breakfast tables a very long time ago and has been in the hands of the same company -one family,like for ever? The same goes for Titus sardines. And, you might ask. How about flour? That's a great question, folks.
It's still controlled by these same merchant families.

Again,I don't have any problem with these guys. I believe in free enterprise with it's underpinning of competition, which to most people-like myself- brings efficiency in every economy.

What I resent and would fight fiercely against,is setting up 'fronts' to undermine our nascent democracy and the country.Ghana ought to keep an eye on these people. They have controlled the economies of almost all the West African countries,and in far away African nations like Haiti.
In that country they control the economy almost 100 percent,and the political powers are in their hands. The only exception was Aristide, and we all know what happened to him.Another exception was Papa Doc, but as they always do, they threw one of theirs for a wife and his kids became one of them, even though initially Papa Doc had wanted to "teach them a lesson." And folks you also remember Emperor Bossa of either Gabon or Central Africa, his wife was also one of them. His daughter is an artist.

Again, I am not an alarmist. But folks, get your eyes peeled and eyes cleaned and protect Nkrumah's Ghana like your depended on it.
