Balancing a budget doesn't mean collapse a whole industry. Looking at the trend of passenger decline, doesn't it tell the government that it's better to revise the tax code now to save local air transport than to collapse it in the name of useless policies. No wonder Ghana find itself in this situation. Ignorant leaders leading a previously prosperous nation into the arms of IMF. With all these natural resources and we still can't make ends meet because greedy leaders are stealing the money meant for the whole nation to secure the future of their families.

The problem is lack of prioritizing. We are bent on providing infrastructure to attract votes no matter the outcome. The local Air industry will now become a means of transport for the rich who form less than 10% of the population. In effect the most vibrant industry in Ghana now will collapse and the youth employed by the local aviation be laid off. Any good economic student, even at SHS, can tell you that this is a wrong move. The president should be able to think and stop relying on the inexperienced ministers.
