New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has justified the alleged assault on colleague MP by the party’s Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as 'Chairman Wontumi'.

According to him, the Manhyia North MP, Collins Owusu Amankwah is part of the mole ‘flirting’ with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Chairman Wontumi allegedly slapped the Manhyia North MP and assaulted constituency secretary, Felix Ibrahim during the limited voter registration exercise at Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi on Sunday.

What triggered the attack is still unknown but the Chairman is assisting police with investigation. He turned himself in after he was declared wanted by the Tafo Pankrono police.

Though his conduct has been condemned by many, Ken Agyapong on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday doff his hat for Wontumi.

“Wontumi is a fantastic chairman; the slap he gave the MP is good. In fact he [Collins] deserves to be beaten,” he scoffed.

Explaining his position, the outspoken Assin Central MP claimed Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah with the help of an NPP bigwig called President Mahama to deal with Chairman Wontumi.

“This MP called a big man in the NPP who also called President Mahama who gave the order for the police to deal with Wontumi,” he claimed.

Ken Agyapong also warned any MP who will connive with the NDC to bring the NPP down ahead of the November elections will not be spared.

NPP needs more supporters or members at the Police Station to demand the release of their Ashanti Region Chairman. The NDC have done more serious things; they've killed people, including those NPP supporters in Agbogbloshie in Accra, contract killings destruction of property including that of the EC in recent days. Asiedu-Nketia, Koku Anyidoho and other party gurus are working behind the scenes to manipulate state security, esp. the BNI and the Police.

Asiedu-Nketia went around West African countries like Togo, Benin and Burkina etc. recruiting foreigners to come register in Ghana for voting purposes. They have bussed a lot of foreigners to the Ashanti region, which is NPP's stronghold; all the beatings, intimidation, destruction of EC's electoral material etc. going on Ghana should not be taken lightly. Collins Dauda, Koku Anyidoho, Hannah Bissiu and other NDC gurus are pulling strings behind the scenes.

As I post this opinion, the NPP Northern region Youth organizer, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti region chairman, have all been arrested and detained at various Police Stations across the country. What kind of bullshit is going on in Ghana? The unfortunate situation is that some so-called NPP stalwarts are in bed with John Mahama, by providing information to him on how to deal with the internal situation. It's a sad, sad situation. Ghana is heading into the ditch, really! It's not surprising to hear Koku Anyidoho brag on the airwaves that there's no problem in Ashanti region, knowing that John Mahama as president, is pressing buttons, from the Jubilee House with the inside info provided to his office. It's very sad. Selective justice is what is being practised in Ghana. It's in NDC's DNA ever since they showed up in Ghana's politics---remember AFRC/P-NDC era, when many Ghanaians were harassed, chased out of Ghana, when some lost their businesses while others were executed by firing squad.

They continue to use "buga-buga" tactics in Ghana to subdue NPP and Ghanaians. This has been the norm ever since the NDC, as I have already stated above, joined Ghana's politics. Mr. Rawlings. The NDC believe Ghana should turn upside down until they get or gain a strong grip on the nation. They are brewing war in the country by their "buga-buga" tactics, lies and propaganda.

The NPP leadership should hold an emergency meeting and find ways to deal with the situation. We can't afford to have our party stalwarts arrested and detained by BNI and the nation's security. As a marter of urgency, I'm calling on Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia, Chairman Freddie Blay, John Boadu, Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku and party leaders to rise up and brainstorm the party's way forward. We should not sit down for the NDC to mollest us; enough is enough!

My candid advice is that if it is possible, the police should arrest anyone find culpable, and that will serve as deterrent to others. This is even the appropriate time for civil bodies like the so called Occupy Ghana, the peace council and other people of influence in our country. The NPP certainly is proving to be a lawless party.
