It is therefore surprising for someone who claims to be a democrat to believe that only ''uneducated minds'' will vote for one particular party. It is like the story of the blind men who went out to explore for themselves what the elephant looked like. Each of them had his own version of what the elephant looked like but one of the blind men went further to cast insinuation at his colleagues saying that even the blindest man would know that, the elephant was like nothing else except the way he found it to be. This is laughable.
In a democracy, a man only makes a fool out of himself if he thinks there cannot be any reasonable alternative to his opinion. It is understandable for Dr Matthew Opoku to reject the NDC because obviously, it is only the NDC that has capacity to deny his party, the NPP, victory in the upcoming election. However, for him to suggest that, only those not knowledgeable enough will vote for the NDC, is only a vivid display of his non-enlightenment and narrowmindedness. It is self-evident that, Ghanaian voters don't require some ''super-brainy'' Matthew Poku to tell them how to vote.
If Matthew Opoku is not worried about resolving the inept leadership that has plunged his party, the NPP, into what is looking like a bottomless pit, then that speaks volumes about who he is. If Matthew Opoku, on the other hand, cannot see how the good leadership of President Mahama has united the NDC and held the country together in peace and security; if Matthew Opoku cannot see the dramatic and massive infrastructural developments in all spheres of the economy all around the country; if Matthew Opoku cannot see how the economy of Ghana has stabilized under the pragmatic policies of JDM, then he must be suffering from selective amnesia. When the results of the Nov 7 election are announced, he and those who are narrowminded like him will be brought down to earth as the mandate of President Mahama will surely be renewed by a wide margin.

Wouldn't such comments make the Opposition more polarized, and unwilling to allow policies of the incumbent Government almost impossible?
