Shameless NDC party of thieves are all shaken for their crimes against the state. The Akan saying is so true that “when an animal is about to die, they make their last rattling, kicking noises”. NDC wants’ to turn the up-coming elections into a tribal conflict, but Ghanaians don’t even give them the chance to hang themselves. They know they cannot win elections fairly and most of their evil plans have been unveiled, finally they employed their own sympathiser, the very incompetent EC boss to run their show. How can a former minister Dzifa even encourage that they should open the boarders with Togo for their cousins to step in and vote for her (which is illegal in itself).

If their hands are clean, including Prez Mahama, they would all have condemned what Dzifa has said or intended. God has punished this nation for too long and if He is willing to lift the curse, He will start by removing this evil government first. They only care about their party, conniving together from the top to the bottom to do no good, other than kill, steal and destroy. Now they think they are so cleaver to knock our heads together. Every day another senior member will rise up and support Dzifa how the NPP are bent on to imprison Voltarians. Are they the only politicians who have stolen from the nations’ coffers and have gone to admit quilt before even the bubble bast? My dear Ewes there is nothing wrong to vote for the party of your choice but don’t let them use you. You are not the only people in the NDC government who have stolen, Asiedu Nkatia and his counterparts are Ashanti’s, Mahama, his 19 brothers and sisters are Northerners etc, etc. Why fear if their hands are clean? Their days are numbered, they can run but cannot hide, Akufu Addo is Ghana’s only hope of Mangufuli of Tanzania.

Ghana is not yet matured for democracy else the responds from Kwadwo Twum Boafo and Mr Asiedu Nketiah and all those in support of Dzifah’s comments would have landed them resigning from their post. Nor would the likes of Madam Dzifa Attivor ever find themselves in politics again. It is very shameful to the rest of the world how far this government has gone to err from its’ duties to the general public and yet internally has such great support, because they are very confident in playing the ethnic card and getting away with it. Lets’ not go too far with this mistake, because ethnicity can cause more mayhem that even the money stolen under this government, you might not have the security to enjoy it once the ethnic bubble breaks loose. We should observe the current genocide of Rwanda to advice ourselves.

All top officials of the NDC would support this woman because they did nothing to prosecute her, meaning they have received their kick-backs already. This is a government who cook up projects, merely to borrow from abroad for just their kick-backs, sad and absurd.

Since this nation is yet not matured enough for democracy, it is ludicrous for the nation to carry on. Democracy is what is killing this nation allowing the ethnic propaganda as the only means NDC can come to power again. We need a military coup de ta again, liken to that of the Gen Kutu Acheampong’s reign. Who in just six years managed this nation to its’ self reliance, without borrowing.

The writer's motif may be good but I think it's important for all us to be sincere and truthful. Nana Akufo-Addo has never made any ethnocentric comments in his political life. To try to twist "yen Akanfuo" is wicked and mischievous. Even if you don't like the man, that's not reason enough to place this stupid tribal tag on him. The man never made reference or even subtly set one tribe against the other. If admitting to being a member of an ethnic group is deemed as being tribalistic, then we really have a problem with our self esteem.

I agree however that there is tribalism in our politics, both by action and comments. Whilst it's true that all the NDC presidential candidates in the 4th Republic (namely Rawlings, Atta Mills and John Mahama) have made ethnocentric comments, the NPP candidates on the hand have never done that and that's a fact. However, some party stalwarts from both sides have made very distasteful ethnocentric comments. I can easily recall Ken Agyapong, Osafo Maafo, both from the side of the NPP, and E. T Mensah, Nii Lantey, Ama Benyiwa Doe of the NDC stock.

On the side of history, Mr Kwarteng was very selective and mischievous in his article. There is no evidence to suggest that Kotoka, Afrifa, Yeboah, Achaempong, Air Vice Martial, and even the murdered High Court judges were killed because of their ethnic backgrounds. I personally think these murders were committed to protect the selfish personal interest of those who masterminded and committed them.

Again it's very mischievous for anyone to link prosecution of public officials to ethnicity. Mr Kwarteng ought to know that Madam Attivor's comments were not factual. So many non-Ewe officials, some who were are politicians but technocrats at the ministries, were arraigned before the courts, but of course many were freed. There are a few others were went to jail but they were not given so much media scrutiny because they are not politicians. The records are there so Mr Kwarteng, who is a well researched person out to know better else his credibility will be questioned.

Finally, I wish to state that we shouldn't encourage nonsensical statements from politicians. Who doesn't know that some known party members in the NDC today such as Woyome, Dzifa Attivor, Betty Mould, Barton Oduro, Kofi Humado, and many others heavily involved in the many corruption scandals in these governments of Atta Mills and John Mahama will be prosecuted? They are more likely to spend quality time in jail because their actions and inactions cost Ghana millions of Cedis. Let no fool try to deceive me that they will be tried in court because they belong to this or that ethnic group.

When NPP former officials like Kwadwo Mpiani, Akwasi Osei Agyei, Wereko Brobby and Asamoah Boateng were sent to court, is the NDC and those supporters defending Attivor suggesting that the men were arraigned before court because they are Akans? I never heard such nonsense coming from the NPP or any Akan, so why all this nonsense today? Must we reduce everything to tribalism? l don't mind if you belong to my ethnic group and you are jailed for corruption, because you didn't think about me when you were stealing left, right and centre. Let's not glorify stupidity!!!

I have more problems dealing with intellectually dishonest people like the author. If he is indeed a relative of Air Vice-Marshall Yaw Boakye, he ought to know better. Some of us knew Rawlings never liked Boakye because of the disciplinary measures he subjected him to. It is no surprise Boakye was murdered along with the other seven. I keep asking what these eight people did wrong to be treated that way. To think these revolutionary goons planned to kill more people, it is very possible some a lot of successful civilians would have been caught in that bad wind. Kofi Awoonor Williams, confessed in his book- The Ghana Revolution, that the coup was carried out to curb Akan hegemony especially the Ashantis. Yet I don't see Akans distrusting Ewes en masse. If we did, Ewes living among us in all nooks and crannies of Akanland would have been forced to vacate a long time ago.

Akuffo-Addo was urging Akans to stand their ground when intimidated by NDC hooligans. I don't see how his image can take a beating because of that. Ken Agyapong was reacting to horrific voter intimidation against Kwahus who had lived all their life in the Kantamanto area. These people were beaten by NDC goons, while police stood aside unconcerned. Ken got people thinking about the consequence of the show being on the other foot. Whether people like it or not, Attivor and her like will be prosecuted because of their corrupt deeds.

It is rather yourself who does not know history of the 1967 Military Coup. Lt. The 1967 Coup was initially successful but Lt. Moses Yeboah & Lt. Arthur, hesitated to make an official announcement. Lt. Moses Yeboah went to arrest General Kotoka which led to them fighting & eventually Lt. Moses Yeboah shot General Kotoka & killed him. This fight took place on a run way at the Airport, which is why the Main Airport is named after General Kotoka because it has historical significance. For your information Lt. Moses Yeboah, was a childhood friend of my Father, they both attended Dormaa Secondary School, in the Brong-Ahafo Region. What I have stated are simple historical facts which actually happened and not speculative misinformation.

Indeed, Lt. Yeboah Killed Lt. Gen. Kotoka. You forgot, however, to mention Capt. Avevor and Sgt. Osei Grunshie, who also lost their lives, along with Capt. Borkloe. Major Gen. Bawa was killed in the Gen. Kotoka and Afrifa coup. Coups are not just a simple matter of Akan versus Ewe in Ghana. We should condemn all lost of life in coup d'etats irrespective of where the coup leaders come from. Stop playing the E-card is my advice to everyone. Ethnocentrism or tribalism is not a growing trend it has been in existence for decades. Politicians around the World use tribalism or racism to appeal to the electorate. Currently, in European Countries, Political Parties that advocate less immigration are gathering in wide support. Donald Trump has gained support in his Presidential Bid by advocating less immigration to the U.S.A. from Mexico and even banning those from Muslim Countries. The former Transport Minister, by making her recent public comments has cunningly shifted the focus from the poor state of the economy to tribalism. Recently, there has been talk that support for the NPP, in the Volta Region may increase at the November 2016 Elections? However, by making these Public Comments she is attempting to shore up support for the NDC in the Volta Region. Personally, I believe that the 1967 Coup led by Lt. Moses Yeboah (a Bono) & Lt. Arthur (a Fante) has been used to sow tribal divisions. It has long been rumoured that Colonel Afrifa (an Asante), encouraged the 1967 Coup, to take place so that he could eliminate General Kotoka (an Ewe), and take power for himself. These are unsubstantiated rumours that have never been proved. Personally, I believe that these unsubstantiated rumours have led to some of the political divisions & mistrust that exists between Ewe's & Asante's.
The fate of Colonel Afrifa, was sealed when the PNDC came to power as Major Boakye Djan (a Bono), and Rawlings (a Ewe), remembering what happened to General Kotoka and Lt. Moses Yeboah.
As I previously stated political ethnocentrism is not a growing trend in Ghana it has always existed.

You also failed to mention the pre independence ethnic was between the Ashantis vrs the other ethnic groups, such as the Fantes, the Ga Adangbes, the Northern groups, the Ewes and especially the role the Ewes played. These are alos contributing factors.

Dzifa Attivor is under attack because she is an Ewe and an NDC member who happened to have made a tribal comment, something that Akans like Kennedy Agyapong, Osafo Marfo, Akufo Addo, and Ursula Owusu are equally guilty of but were not castigated for. Where is the fairness?

Dzifa Ativor is being held to a different standard while Kennedy Agyapong, Osafo Marfo, Akufo Addo and Ursula Owusu get a pass. Animal kingdom, some are more equal than others.

It is no secret that we Ewes have some natural enemies and they know whom they are. They are those who only speaks up when an Ewe does exactly what their tribesmen do.

When Kennedy Agyapong made his genocidal statement, he was praised, he was projected as a hero, he was elevated as their champion, he was showered with powder. No one castigated him. The so-called Peace Council was asleep and never heard about the issue. It was ok because Kennedy is one of them, he is an Akan and also an NPP member.

When Osafo Marfo said his tribe must be the ones ruling this country and that they must also be the ones controlling the resources of Ghana, no one castigated him. But when Koku Anyidoho says something, the so-called Peace Council hears it. The NPP surrogates and hydra-headed appendages hear it and they come out pouncing because he is not one of them, he is an Ewe and he belongs to the NDC.

If these aren't enough, just go back and look at how these people jump all over anything that has Tsatsu Tsikata's name linked to it. They savour it with a gusto that can only be likened to that of hyaenas devouring a kill. They are all over it like scavengers having a feast; a meal for them and a chance to show how much they hate Ewes.

Seriously, some of our fellow countrymen and women have no respect for people outside their tribe; they disrespectfully call people "Pepeni". "Trokosi", "Tani", "Togolese", and what-have-you and when they are done hating and insulting you, they come asking you to vote for their NPP and they expect you to stupidly get to the pooling booth and vote for their NPP with glee. Good luck folks, very big good luck. I rest my case.

Give your vote to whomever you want and let me give mine to whomever I want.

My own mother, who was born in Accra some 80+ years ago and has voted in all our elections, except the previous one, was not permitted to vote in the previous elections because someone who is an Akan and a also happened to be the pooling station boss (what is the name for them?) didn't believe my mom is Ghanaian because of her Ewe name. Yes, these are some of the things we contend with in Ghana, a place we call home.

By the way, did anyone see the "Voter Region" Twitter post from Gabby Otchere Darko on why the Volta Region needs a Sports Stadium? Go figure, folks! Go figure!
