Ghana is paying six times its total oil revenue as interest on the country’s total public debt stock; that’s the computation done by former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“We’ll reach GHC99billion by the end of this year 2015,” the Running Mate to the Flagbearer of the biggest opposition Party said in a post-budget presentation interview with Richard Sky of Citi FM.

“The interest on this debt alone is going to be six times Ghana’s oil revenue,” Dr Bawumia said.

“When we found oil, we were happy that we found oil, but the borrowing of this Government has compromised the whole oil discovery; you need six times our oil revenue just to pay interest on the debt, not even capital, so, it is a really sad development,” he complained.

How then can we say the EC is independent? In a soccer match between Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, you allow the captain of one team to appoint the referee (Blame the Constitution?). They say he hasn't done anything yet this man is going round the country pointing out works that he has done. The NPP just lies too much and its actually very shameful for them to point fingers when they did worse and used state funds to travel the country to seek votes. They even hired buses filled with rice, sugar, oil, bicycles etc to give to the electorates and today you are pointing fingers.

The other one is the distribution of jobs, positions and contracts. What else is the NPP fighting for? Let us stop pretending, Mac Manu was in Kuffour's Govt, when the president made inspection of projects, launching and re-launching of others a daily affair. Why do some NPP members blame Kuffour for Nana's defeat in 2008? That he did not 'use incumbency' enough for Nana Addo? Yes, but even as a candidate Nana Addo was enjoying Police escort wherever he went. The Metro Mass buses were mobilized for Nana Addo, so don't throw dust in our eyes. What is good for the goose is equally good for the gander.

Mahama will continue transforming Ghana. Currently he has expanded the Kumasi Airport and plans are far advanced to build Ho airport. Mahama is winning, Ghana is changing no need to rise.

And the reality is that, he is only showing the people what he has done with his mandate.
