All Igbos must relegate Civil War to History. That requires that they use the Biafran War as a source of lessons to move together with the rest of Nigeria.
Having said that, it behooves the other parts of Nigeria, especially, the Northern Parts, to exercise restraint in any urges to claim supremacy because they and the rest of Nigeria won the War.
It is always tempting for a victorious side in a Civil War to impose on and subjugate the other side. But the wisest thing to do is to encourage the losing side to feel more part of the whole.
Any efforts of isolating, discriminating or cheating the losing side in the share of National opportunities like infrastructure would be both morally and politically wrong.
The leaders of the Igbo folks therefore ought to use the Court system more often to seek prompt redress of issues long overlooked by the Central Government, rather than taking to the streets and threaten violence. Such is what led to the Biafran War. And I do not wish that on the younger generation ever again.
Losing a Civil war does not mean losing any of the Citizen's rights to the National cake. So, both Buhari and the Cardinal must tread carefully not to give any side the impetus to deepen any suspicions and irritations between the two sides.
I hope the Cardinal would rather appeal to the President in a more ecclesiastical manner than blatantly insulting the President. Being a Priest does not confer any special rights on one to so crudely confront the President. If the President disobeyed the Courts, and the Judiciary does not seem to have the clout and legal force to get him to comply, the third Arm of the Government, the Parliament (Congress) ought to be employed to break the stalemate.
If the Parliament rules as the Court did and the President still thumbs his nose at the Nation, then he could be processed for impeachment.
But for, now, calm ought to be encouraged for heads to confer with one another.
