We do not need AGRA nor GM technology to become self-sufficient in food. The countries that are promoting it attained food self-sufficiency before inventing GM technology.
Why are they forcing GM on us on the pretext that it is the only way we can become self-sufficient in food?
If it is good, why do they not promote it in their own counties?
Our leaders and decision-makers must wake up and stand up against the GM onslaught.

For your information AGRA is not any foreign organization seeking to make money from the peasant farmers you so call by imposing GM technology on them.
AGRA is an African led partnership, an NGO that seeks nothing but to see the ordinary smallholder farmer lifted from his or her impoverished state so they could also educate their children, feed their family and the continent at a whole.
Nothing stops you from going to their office or better still their website to read and find out what this organization is really into.
I am disappointed the good that AGRA seeks to do is being portrayed as an evil thing.Get yourself informed.

In the past, I also thought the way Bessah thinks now, but I now know that the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) does not support GM technology in any country in Africa. What AGRA promotes is conventional breeding. In fact, I spoke to plant breeders at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) at the University of Ghana to confirm this. There are several seed companies being funded by AGRA in Ghana and other parts of Africa, who also confirm that AGRA is not into GMO. Let's stop deceiving the public because of parochial interest. Lets encourage AGRA to continue supporting ou smallholder farmers to help transform Africa's agriculture.
