already in Jail, has the Right to apply to be Excused for 1/2 Days to Marry.
Considering the facts that,two persons
who have agreed to be joined together in Marriage are two Separate personalities, and Not the Same person who is wanted. Therefore, considering the health and welfare of the Bride if She's not the Same person as the Groom, cannot be ignored for the Police to Arrest the Groom in the Church in the process of a Wedding.I don't think the Police has the right to obstruct the Marriage Ceremony.A life threatening consequence could happen to the Bride(cardiac-arrest, sudden death, permanent psychiatric sickness,etc). Therefore,I think the Gh Police did not exercise Caution and Simple Common Sense Approach in discharge of their duties,in the circumstance.The Police had several options to execute their duties in this Case.For instance,after the wedding in the evening at home,or the following day at 6:00AM,wherever they may be.Therefore,24/7 Surveillance was the operation "Key" applicable which was diabolically ignored by the Gh Police.The Gh Police was rude to the innocent Bride. If the Groom had Committed Murder,I wonder the reaction of the Police. Maybe the officiating Priest could also be arrested. A typical diabolical and Rude African attitude in my personal opinion.Anyway.

I don't know why many people are sympathizing with this robber. I am a small scale miner at Aniamote where he came to rob. His nickname is Network. All his family are living there. Some of his brothers are also in the robbing business. About two months ago his gang staged a serious robbing at one of the mining sites bolting away with more than 800 grams of gold. One was arrested and has since been jailed. This in police wanted people list. He went into hiding and resurfaced on Tuesday only to rob this Chinese with a cutlass inflicting serious wounds on him. He later called his family and told them the said wedding had been canceled. So none of his people attended the wedding. He knew he would be arrested there, so he lied to the people. But the police were more intelligent than him and spied around the place to ascertain whether the wedding was indeed canceled. Here he was enjoying the money. He is a known criminal in the area and Kwesimintsim. He will never see the light again. I am shocked at how people won't clap for the police but such a job done but rather sympathies with this criminal. Wait till he pounds on you one day with a cutlass and AK47. The whole village is jubilating.

I don't think anyone on this forum Sympathize with the Suspect.The man could be a Criminal from hell;that is not the point.The point is, the Collapse of the Bride Could not happened (and who knows next) if the arrest in the Church was well thought through and avoided.Therefore,the Policemen did not exercise Caution and Common Sense approach with regards to the rights of the Couple to marry and erred to obstruct the Marriage Ceremony in Church.That is what some of us talked about.And that do not translate into Sympathy for the suspect in anyway as you think. According to the report the Bride Collapsed.What do you say if she dies,or goes Mad!.Can someone also ask,how you would feel,if She's your Sister!.

I don't have any sympathy for any of them. It's even good the marriage was stopped before they became a couple that could accord the alleged armed robber some privileges if they were married.

What about if it turns out that it's not true .The police should have waited after the ceremony invite the man .It's very unfortunate but if true the man is really stupid thinking that he can get away easily like that

I hate this hypocrisy. Is it because this guy supposedly robbed a Chinese guy and we think it is right?

I too think we have cedes our sovereignty to these Chinese because our corrupt leaders have sold our birthright to these people but that is not a good enough excuse to defend an alleged armed robber. Do we know how many Ghanaians this guy might have robbed or even killed?

Let the security people do their job. At least he is luckier than most armed robbers in Ghana who did not get a chance to prove their innocence and we gave them instant justice by lynching them.

Yes he is alleged to have stolen but the Church premise is a holy place so he should have been allowed to finish the ceremony. I am wondering how much Chinese have been arrested for polluting our water bodies with poisonous chemicals. Let's be wise.

Our deep hatred for Nigeria and Nigerians has blocked our real sense of reasoning at all time. How do you know that the guy or the fool you replied is a Nigerian? Or you just believe they are they only one that see our women as cheap and wicked? Ask your mother, if only she will open up to you...... Some of our women are very cheap and wicked. It's a fact that we don't like to discuss in public. Are you married ? I hope you won't think I am a Nigerian too because of my truth? Groom arrested at altar pleads guilty to robbery act

The bridegroom who was arrested on his wedding day for allegedly robbing a Chinese national to the tune of GH?18,000 has admitted to committing the crime.

The accused, Aaron Acquah was arrested last Saturday at the Aldersgate Methodist Church at Anaji in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region when he was about to exchange vows with his bride.

He was subsequently arraigned before a Prestea Magistrate court presided over by Mr Frank Addo Ashietey on Monday.

According to The Chronicle report, the accused who appeared in court wearing a white shirt over a pair of black trouser pleaded guilty with explanation to the charge of robbery.
