Who wouldn't want a special lunch date with Ghanaian international and Black Stars' captain, Asamoah Gyan, at his plush three million-dollar hilltop mansion, La Basilica De Baby Jet?

Well, that's obviously the dream of many Ghanaians, particularly those who are fascinated by the luxurious lifestyle of the footballer whose regular parties attract the bigwigs in football, business, and politics.

And it was no surprise that seven fans of the football star gladly walked into the studio of Accra-based radio station, 3FM 97.2 Friday morning beaming with smiles having had an 'invitation' to have lunch with Asamoah Gyan.

Unfortunately, their hopes of having that unforgettable moment with one of Africa's well-paid footballers internationally were short-lived when they were eventually informed by the host of 3FM's morning show, Winston Amoah that the "invitation" was an April Fool's Day prank!

The promise of them being chauffeured from Kanda in Accra to Gyan's Basilica at Weija in the Western part of Accra suddenly became a mirage that was written on their face. Their disappointment was indescribable just as their excitements were when they arrived in the studio.

"I'm very, very disappointed because as I was told we were gonna have lunch with Asamoah Gyan; it's been my dream for a very long time meeting Asamoah Gyan and being at his place too. The whole thing was just a happy moment for me but the moment i was told it was April Fool my spirit just...my spirit is down," one of them told TV3 Online

Although a date with Gyan was a mirage, they were given an opportunity to have lunch with the Sunrise host after each of them was presented with souvenirs of 3FM.

The seven were selected after a phone in a competition which involved answering questions related the Asamoah Gyan and the Black Stars. The station used Baffuor Gyan who impersonated Asamoah Gyan and urged listeners to call into the show to be able to win a lunch date with him.
