National Security is not fighting to protect the rights of STL. It is obvious from the Minister's statement that our national security is fighting for the national interest such as an avoidance of information interception during the elections, insurrections or destabilization activities with foreign collaboration. Ace Ankoma knows this too well but hypocrisy and the desire to take a posture that would put him in good stead for gain in an NPP government would not allow him to say the truth.

If BNI thought they had a good case, they should have gone to court to prosecute the South Africans. Deporting them means you have no good case that is why you could not face the defense lawyers in court. Hence holding them ...

It is a shame of gigituan magnitude for the BNI to secretly deport the three South African Police Officers who they believed with the ruling government that they were in Ghana as mercenaries invited into the country by the NPP. If indeed they have foiled the attempts of coup plotters NPP and their mercenaries cohorts, why should they clandestinely deport them without letting the rule of law do justice to them? Ghanaians have been through a lot and it is wrong for a security apparatus like BNI to cry wolf where there is none.

This is the second time I have read comments about the role of STL. The EC stated during the election results challenge trial that STL did not compile the election results. STL provides communication network to EC, it does not do EC's work. The network can be used to transmit emails to regional offices. Does that mean STL pens the emails?
As for the comments by Ace the least said about it the better. The substance at stake is NPP brought in foreign security experts on the blind side of the state security and are now trying to shift attention from this. They erred big time, the rest is pure waffle.

But in this instance he does not need a rocket science to understand that the 3 South African ex-police officers in possession of a sensitive document is a cause for suspicion, even if STL is private. BNI was right to question them as to why they have it, who gave it to them, how long they have had it, etc. Remember these are foreigners secretly invited into the country to give military training to certain people in an election year? PLEASE, ACE BE SMART.

What is ex-servicemen clandestinely teaching people how militrary drills are done going to use trade secrets for. For them it is ways of military compromise.

Some of these apprentice lawyers in Ghana are backward thinkers. The BNI has a constitutional duty to protect the safety of Ghanaians and the national security interest of our nation. The circuit court judge erred in the decision to grant bail to the South African, knowing they constituted flight risk. In addition, the court registrar lacks the competence to hold the South African suspects.
I support the actions taken by the BNI in this matter.
