He tried after the elections in 2012, by mobilising gullible and illiterate NPP members at the OBRA spot and started inflicting mayhem on innocent Ghanaians. NPP suppers killed an innocent taxi driver at the Cantonments area. Nana Akufo Addo told them lies. He told them that the number of votes he received at the elections had been reduced and added to President Mahama's votes. If it had not been for the General Secretary of the NDC,Mr. Asiedu Nketsia who went on radian to instruct the NDC members not to go to the OBRA spot, there would have been bloodshot in the country. Nana Akufo Addo got off the hook that time; this time he will not be lucky; the International Criminal Court (ICC) has his records.

Wishful thought of a Senior Villager. What the New Patriotic Party has been saying since the news about the three security threat people in Ghana emerged is the talk of a wishful senior villager. The people in question from their pictures look like a Latino, Madagaskar or South Pacific man and the third a Libyan or Moroccan.
If what the NPP saying that it has not been well treated by the state security since they lost power in 2009 then the case would have been that all people who suffered in various ways from the NPP regime from 2001 to 2009 would have by now have battalion of private soldiers guiding them.
It is on record that when NPP came to power in 2001 it dismissed from office people who are not Akan, just as Busia did in 1969 an ethnic cleansing that came to be known as Apollo 516 in the political history of Ghana, John Kufour dismissed Ewhes, Ghas and some Akans who do not belong to the NPP from office. When the people went to court and won their cases just as in 1969 when Busia refused to respect the rulings of the courts, Kufuor just like his prime minister also ignored the rulings of the courts. When Kennedy Agyapong call for the killings of Ewhes and Ghas in 2012 the two tribes did not take to the streets in protest, they relied on the reason of the state and courts to handle the matter. But the judge handled the matter in a manner to show that Ewhes and Gha-Adangbes are not human beings and do not deserve the dignity that should be accorded to the human person.
An appeal to the International Criminal Court did not receive any response, thus those tribes which were booked to be wiped out from the face of the Earth should have taken up arms to defend themselves, but wise council prevail up to date. When the running candidate of Nana Akufo Addo, Mahmudu Bawumia accused Ewhes and Ghas of been thieves who go their pictures unto the Ghanaian voter register through fraudulent means Ewhes and Gha-Adangbes did not raise a voice, they waited for the NPP to expose its evil and criminal nature to the international community. It is a fact that the 77,000 voters in the South Tongu constituency that Mahmudu Bawumia and the NPP want to deprive of the right to universal adult suffrage are to engage 15 private soldiers to guard them in the 7/11/2016 pools we shall have 1,550,000 private soldiers roaming Ghana by now, not to mention if the over 4,000,000 Ewhes and Gha-Adangbes were also to recruit 15 people each to guard them. The behavior of the NPP is that of a homeless village senior highway man.

employment which ought to be cleared through Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Interior. Business visas are not given for people coming for employment. They need working permits. Was this done? The wise men in NPP are silent but those makings noise are fools, it is wrong to bring in the South Africans to Ghana for such a training, Ghana is not at war to bring Nato to come and secure peace, we are Ghanaians and instead of bringing this men educate Ghanaians how you are going to make them feel if you come to power and how you are going to control the economy but sorry this action shows how low you people are ,the truth is painful but you have choose the wrong option for yourself ,the money used for paying this men can be used to promote something that will change people's mind to vote for you but now how can you recover from all this fighting in the NPP and now this ?,we are all Ghanaians

Duncan and his cohorts cannot bulldoze their way out of this. No matter how reasonable the excuse for the recruitment of the South Africans to train some Militia for the sole service of the NPP sounds, it still falls short on legality.

Moreover, precedents for such an activity in Ghana met the loudest and most vehement concerns of average Ghanaians. The irony of it all is that it is the NPP leaders who have in the past been most vocal in protesting such importation of foreign para-military personnel into the country for private services, and any formation of such para-military forces.

The most recent of such NPP protest on the formation of similar groups was against the former NDC National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan. He was alleged to have been organizing some Youths to form a private pro-NDC para-military group. All indications show that group was either disbanded or never really came to being.

But going a little further back, it is worth-noting that the antecedent of the NPP in the form of UP/NLM that was behind the Coup that toppled Nkrumah's Government, did add to their list of complaints justifying the overthrow of Nkrumah the fact that he had surrounded himself with a Presidential Guard trained by some Soviet Military personnel.

In the mind of the UP/NLM Opposition, Nkrumah had neglected our Military and disrespected it for bringing in some foreign personnel to be in charge of his security.

An honest assessment of Nkrumah's situation would show that he had endured numerous attempts by his political nemesis, largely from the same Opposition, to assassinate him and violently usurp his Government. It is a fact that some of the culprit attackers on Nkrumah were from among our own Security Agencies. Kwame Ametewe was one such member of our local Security personnel who was contracted to kill the late President. That background provided the rational justification for Nkrumah to distrust our Security Agencies to adequately protect him, and therefore, chose to beef up his security, spiced with foreigners with no connection to the Opposition.

The dire physical daily threats that Nkrumah faced can hardly be said of Akufo-Addo, the NPP, or any other Party for that matter, today. The closest we have come to see similar threats against our Political leaders is the recent incident at a Church where an insane subject was said to have gone to assassinate President Mahama.

Even so, we did not see the President using that close encounter as an excuse to establish any such private Security apparatus to protect him. Akufo-Addo has not met any such threats, and not been denied any request to our Security Agencies to provide him any protection for any perceived threats, either.

So, what is the justification for Akufo-Addo to contract any foreign agencies to provide him and the NPP a special private security?

If he criticized Nkrumah for protecting himself with a private Security unit, why would he seek to do similarly for himself?

If the NPP protested against the Yaw Boateng Gyan para-military pro-NDC group to nib its creation in the bud, why would the NPP turn around and do similarly?

While I leave the legality of any Political Party forming a private security apparatus to the legal professionals to judge, I seriously have concerns on the importation of foreign Military personnel by non-governmental entities to provide any private services to anyone or group.

It is in view of the above that I see gaping holes in the claims by Freddy Blay in the Media to justify the formation of NPP special para-military unit secretly trained by South African mercenaries.

Some questions that all fair-minded Ghanaians ought to ask the paranoid Akufo-Addo and his cohorts include the following:

1). What if folks come to describe his decision to hire these private para-military personnel as an extension of his declared "All die be die.." policy, which his Assistant, Boniface, only yesterday reiterated but in other words that they would do everything possible to win the coming Elections?

2). What would he, Akufo-Addo, have done or said if it were President Mahama and his NDC that had hired these thuggish para-military to train in secret for his sole private use?

3). If there was nothing illegal about the hiring of such a private 'Army', why did he, Akufo-Addo and his NPP faction request formal approval of the State Security Agencies?

4). Why would the provision of a private security for him, Akufo-Addo, got to do with materials on the Company that the E.C. had been reported to have hired to analyse and monitor our 2012 Elections, as found in the possession of the apprehended private para-military personnel?

5). Could Akufo-Addo tell us the difference between the Invisible Forces that his faction had earlier claimed to own and this other group just apprehended with the South Africans?

I think the show Freddy Blay put on the TV today to explain and justify his NPP faction's action to form and train this private 'Army' was at best short on logic, shallow on justification, and inadequately choppy on presentation.
