Dr. Bawumia pointed out that the NDC had increased Ghana’s debt in seven years by GHC90 billion, from GHC9.5 billion at the end of 2009 to some GHC99 billion currently; an equivalent of some 37 billion dollars at the time of borrowing.

“First, If you sum the cost of all the loan financed projects listed in the green book (even including those with artistic impressions, it is less than $7 billion. Meanwhile, the government has borrowed the equivalent of $37 billion so where is the rest of the money? Indeed, given the resources at its disposal one should expect at least four times the quantum of investment that the NDC claims to have undertaken”, Dr. Bawumia said, as he began listing the six reasons.

Dr. Bawumia proceeded to list a number of things the over 30billion dollars from borrowing the NDC cannot account for, could have done, which proves that contrary to the claims, the NDC has done a bad job at giving Ghanaians their due after undertaking unprecedented borrowing in the last seven years.

ASHANTI TOWN SNAKES Ever since the Ashanti town issue cropped up I have been amazed to hear our useless academicians attributing it to remote causes like Climate Change and the likes. Look, such things are the regular features of the wild especially during mass movement of soldier ants (Nkrani in Twi from which we got the name Nkran - Accra). During such movements by the ants in the wild, they occupy every space in the terrain including holes, crevices, cracks and snake hide-outs in the bush in a sweeping mode and since snakes fear the ants they flee - Who aid snakes don't have natural enemies.
The snakes running to homes in Ashanti town is to find a place to hide themselves. The only solution to this is to allow a lot of local pigs to roam the vicinity. Cats should also be be given the freedom scan the neighborhoods to ensure that any single snake is trailed. This can only be successful if there are no Muslims and Ewes in that particular Ashanti town.

A person can not be bad in all things except a mindset full of hatred will continue to see someone considered as a political opponent to be bad in all things. With experience it is clear that no one on earth is perfect and good in all things, yet life is supposed to go on with the needed cooperation.

In my view as I stated Stan Dogbe is a smart fellow but sometimes in the political arena the political and tribal tension only wishes negative happenings to be centered on a peson difficult to be defeated. Stan is tough and intelligent but one can not know all, a point worth considering.

Concerning his action in stopping the newsman from asking the president questions, he proves smart because not all questions ought to be asked, hence that is why they accompanied the president in this visit. He is experienced and thus did protect the president in this regard.

If there might be any opposition of criticism against Dogbe's action then I guess it could probably come from the Ashanti mentality hijacked NPP which always opposes good things as long as they see one as a person they find difficult to control easily and thus turn it into hatred.

This behaviour is totally foolishness and we therefore never needed it in this time of our desire to march forward to achieve development.

Indeed, it would be recalled Ato Kwamena Dadzie wrote a scathing piece about Nana Akufo Addo, under very similar circumstances when he sought to chip in a question to Akufo Addo during a debate on the floor of the house, and Akufo Addo had taken a very short break and was returning from the restroom. He Ato, eviscerated Akufo Addo describing him in all sorts of words, when because of time constraints, Akufo Addo could not address his questions because he needed to get on the floor of Parliament. The conclusion Ato drew, was, Akufo Addo was arrogant and the NDC lapped it up.
What happened is in no way different from what happened in the Scottish Parliament. Would we say therefore, John Dramani Mahama is arrogant because he refused to answer the Journalist/reporter's very brief question when John Mahama could have told Stan Dogbe to back off, since the reporter approached him even before Stan Dogbe came from behind to shove him off?
It must be noted that, the issues raised were about a broad spectrum of human rights and that spectacle put up by Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, in preventing the Journalist from getting a very brief answer to the question he posed, falls within those human rights the Scottish were concerned about. It is called the right to free speech which under John Dramani Mahama is seriously being put to the test. The GBC journalist Kwanmowa suffered a similar fate in Accra at a time Journalists/reporters had been involved in a very gory and ghastly accident leading to the loss of life of a young budding reporter. Attempts to elicit information which was not forthcoming, saw the GBC reporter being assaulted by Stan Dogbe.
These are serious and egregious breaches of the fundamental human rights of these journalists in the normal course of their duties, and it doesn't get worse than this.
What were are witnessing is a domestic and international policy of the John Dramani Mahama akin to a gag order or gagging of the press and for it to play out at such a forum is most unfortunate and disappointing.
John Mahama should not be afraid to answer questions as the frontiers of democracy are expanded in a democratic dispensation, to ensure accountability, participation and citizen engagement through information flow and open governance.
This was unwarranted and another blot on the administration of the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC gov't.

Isn't it surprising no Ghanaian knows John Dramani Mahama's position on gay rights? His representative in the UK Ambassador Victor Smith said, he doesn't know Ghana's position on gay rights. The controversy surrounding gay rights is not going to go away. Wouldn't Ghanaians want to know John Dramani Mahama's position on that subject? Since when did he develop the inability to speak? Why is Stan Dogbe preventing John Mahama from stating his position on those so called rights if he has a position? This was a missed opportunity for Ghanaians to know John Dramani Mahama's position on this matter and the brash manner Stan Dogbe went about preventing Ghanaians from knowing John Mahama's position on this subject was an affront to the right to information in a pluralistic society where leaders need to be held accountable. Ghanaians want to know John Dramani Mahama's position on those so called rights and where he stands on that matter and the BBC journalist was doing what the Ghanaian media should have been doing, to hold John Mahama's feet to the fire and find out from him, his position on that gayism matter. He must state his position just as Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia has stated his position on the matter.
Stan's conduct was thuggish and a disgrace to journalistic ethics and standards, Ghanaians and the world and everybody who wanted to know John Mahama and his NDC govt's position on this matter.
John Dramani Mahama must come out boldly and state his position on this matter.

Protecting the President, from what? John Mahama and Stan Dogbe just scored a brilliant own goal. The NDC has some communicator who goes by the name Ametor Quarmyne. When he gets the chance on Asempa FM to discuss issues,mine thing he is very fond of talking about is when Akufo Addo went to the UK and was asked about the free SHS and how it is going to be funded. Ametor never misses a chance to saw Akufo Addo runaway from the question about the cost of that program and the interviewer who asked those questions is known to be very tough.
So if John Mahama is running away, even before the question lands with Stan Dogbe physically restraining the journalist then John Mahama is not ready for prime time.
Stan Dogbe just caused John Mahama to score an own goal. How can he lead Ghana when he can't answer very simple questions which have not even landed? And they say he is protecting him, Ha!!!
