Exclusive: The two defenders have developed an excellent relationship for the Phobians this season so far, with Kenichi's men yet to concede after two games

Hearts of Oak defender Richard Akrofi has heaped praise on fellow defender and teammate Robin Gnagne, as the Phobians continue their quest for the Ghana Premier League title in a bright fashion.

The Accra-based team, after their opening day victory over Edubiase United, pipped Medeama SC 1-0 at the T&A Park on Sunday.

Hearts are also yet to concede a goal so far with Akrofi and Gnagne playing pivotal roles at the back.

"I'm new at the team but one can see the partnership with Gnagne works well. He's experienced, respectful and ready to learn and teach others new things," Akrofi told Goal.

"His performance level has been top-drawer over the years that's why he has risen through the ranks to become the captain and for me to play alongside with him consistently is a great honour.

"It was working well, and if we can be together and stay fit, we can win the league this season," he added.

Hearts travel to Cape Coast to lock horns with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday.
