Since the herdsmen are employed by cattle owners, controlling the grazing habits of the cattle must be the responsibility of the owners. If the cattle owners lose some few cows they will consider spending money to coral their herds.

How can Dr. Aning equate lives of our security men trained and paid to defend the territorial integrity of our country,the havoc these animals have caused and continue to cause to our eco-system not to talk about the criminal activities of some of these herdsmen who cannot easily be arrested and brought to book by our law=enforcers due to their obscure locations to the little investment they bring to the country to suggest that our security-men should should sheepishly stand to be mauled by these animals? The DCOP explicitly says "in event of attack..."
Being a security expert does not make one a Mr. Know-all. Dr. Ening should rather collaborate with the DCOP and persons who know better in the area of herding animals and stop talking about his arm-chair theories that are in this case counter-productive.
Development, it is said begins with man and is about the well-being of man and not cattle in this case. Who is the beneficiary of the investment Dr. Aning talks about?
Dr. Aning should apologize to DCOP Awuni for his ignorance in this area lest the people of Agogo, some areas in New Juabeng, Volta region etc.who have painfully lost their livelihood womanhood and lives as a result of the criminal activities of these herdsmen and their cattle will not forgive him.

A radio or TV host should be asking questions that discerning minds should be asking. This Aning bloke should have been asked if the farm crops being destroyed are no investment and whether such investment is not being killed, as he wanted the world to know that cattle in the only investment being killed. Let them put up fence and lock their cattle, even if they leased the lands. TV & Radio hosts should play hardball with these so-called experts.That is no arrogance. In any case, why didn't he do the economic analysis of their contribution to our economy to inform us? No matter how big their contribution is, it is nowhere close to what our farmers contribute through their foodstuffs and the raw material they produce to feed our industries. We are tired of this type of one-sides analysts who will not go primary information but continue making their analysis based on second-hand or even third-information and be making all sorts of unnecessary noise. If any of Dr. Aning's relatives was raped or killed by this Fulanis, maybe he would have understood what the people of Kwahu and Agogo are going through in the hands of these so-called major economic contributors.

I wish to take this opportunity to commend DCOP Awuni for his courageous instruction. We'll defend our land with the land, women, and fathers with last drop of blood in us. Long live Ghana, long live the people of Kwahu.

How is it possible for two political parties to be in power for sooooo long, politicians traveling to the US, Europe, Asia, etc and not returning with any new ideas about how to organize a small country like Ghana, where cattle ranchers don't clash with farmers over grazing land.

The police commander is doing exactly what a commander is supposed to do in ordering his personnel in the field to kill anything that's a threat to their lives, in my opinion, well done Commander Awuni.

Now to the joker, Dr. Aning, maybe, just maybe, the man is a cattle owner whose herd the Fulani herdsmen are tending, hence his seemingly mindless comments about preserving the Ghanaian economy, while the country is about to go up in flames as the various communities are about to go to all out war against the Fulani herdsmen, these mindless doctors are making the nation nauseous by blabbing and never posing any permanent solutions.

Not too long age another blabber mouth from the PPP party called for Commander One to be transferred from Kumasi, because the police was not doing enough about the Fulani problem, now that the police and other security forces have begun to take decisive action, another blabber mouth is attacking them again, that is called: Damn if you do and damn if you don't.

In this conflict, the affected communities, the Police and the Fulani herdsmen are victims of ineffective vision less NDC&NPP regimes, it's time for a more progressive type of politics in Ghana.

The Fulani herdsmen also do cost a lot of financial lost and Dr. Aning you should have taken their plight into consideration.
I abhor violence but I do believe in the castle law. If the cattle are taken to someone's farm that farmer has every right to defend himself and his property and in the process this Fulani herdsmen pull their A K-47 on this innocent farmers then you have a tooth for tooth situation on your hands.
The police are going to defend the property of the farmers. Defenders of Ghanaian property not that of the Fulanis
