IS ISLAM A RELIGION OF PEACE?.If Muslims have problems with traditional authorities in Tafo, why did they attack Christian churches. Mahama sees all these yet he will not condemn them. The last time, Muslims burnt down a christian Mission house in Atebubu and that one too he did not condemn it. Muslims went on demonstration in Takoradi for equal right in Christian schools and that one attracted condemnation from Mahama against Christian missionary schools. Why is it so? Is it because Mahama sees christians as too docile to be respected?

The only avowed enemy of Christians is Satan and so if Muslims have issues with traditional authorities, the best place Muslim youth should have attacked was the shrines of the traditional deities and not six ( Christian churches. This was deliberate and not a mistake. What would have happened afterwards if Christians had retaliated? Does it mean that Muslims are agents of Satan who has vowed to destroy the church? This is why Mahama should have condemned the Muslim youth for this needless provocation but unfortunately he did not. Is it because he is happy Muslims are destroying the church or he is brainless as a leader.

“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”

“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”

He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”

“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”

“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”

However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

Prevailing map of the world today will not change for any group and there's enough evidence to support that. The closest is the Biafra case in neighbors Nigeria. Maps of Ghana and Togo are well defined so I suggest the government re - run the referendum again.

The Volta region I will say has three (3) belts:

(a) the Coastal belt in the south

(b) the Forest belt in the middle

(c) the savanna belt in the north

Most of you who have little idea of the Volta region or have only travelled along the south to places like Keta, Lome (TOgo) and beyond, think that what you see is all there is to the place but there is more than than that.

You might think you have natural resources so therefore you are self sufficient but hasn't Africa proven that notion wrong? If you have any meaningful education at all, which I doubt, I will kindly request that you read about what Erich Walter Zimmermann (1888–1961) said about resources. I bet it's far beyond your grasp.

What Ghana needs is Nkrumah's grand agenda of industrialization, tweaked with a modern injection of private sector participation. Our leaders and politicians have failed Ghana so miserably. Selfishness is what has reigned after Kwame Nkrumah left the scene. Selflessness is no longer a virtue that is pursued.

contributed to the development of their
areas even though all the mineral
resources come from there so why are
they crying. This shows if volta region
were to be western, B/A , Ashanti or
Eastern with those minerals and oil
they would have organised rebels to
stop the government from using the
funds for others. These regions have
been neglected by ndc governments
for the 27 years of rule but none of
them has complained. If you can't take it the best thing is what you trying to do, to secede because no government can use the resources from other regions to develope a dry region.

This is a DONE DEAL so we should not waste our time talking about it. Initially, British Togoland was going to be attached to The Territory of Togo( or bFrench Togoland) to be come The Republic of Togo when the later achieved independance in 1960 but Kwame Nkrumah, Antor, Gaka, Ghedemah etc influenced the preblist in favour of BT going with the Gold Coast Colony. It is a complex matter. I well remember when Olypio and Santos took the case to UN,complianing that the election was not fair because South and South Eastern Ewes of the GCC took part in the volting. Un turned deaf ear to this complaint. We need to know who are western Voltarian wishing to breakaway from Ghana.

By the way, I believe in the independence of the individual. The Government has to make it possible for each individual to create a life for himself and family, within reasonable boundaries, no matter where they live. What is at issue is how our communities are organized going forward. Do we maintain our chiefs as leaders and all others as humanitarian agencies? After all, that was the purpose of schools, hospitals, offices, housing developments, etc., and what they were created to be. They were not created for the purpose of creating jobs, and they were supported by hardworking independent individuals.

Sometimes people have to travel over the whole country to see how the rest of the country is faring. We have "urban" areas and rural/village areas in Ghana. The urban areas tend to be relatively better off than the rural areas. In fact, I have travelled to the western regions in the early 90s and I was stunned by the level of underdevelopment I saw there. I don't the situation has changed that much since I last undertook that trip. having said this, the people of the western region are not clamouring for any secession from Ghana or any law suit against the government of Ghana.

The 1st time I read about this issue, as was 1st published by The Daily Graphic, I knew something sinister was brewing and I am convinced it is about the exploration of oil in the Volta region. That is what my hunch was and I trust my hunch so much, 90% of the time it proves to be right.

This group is up to something sinister. They want to follow in the footsteps of Biafra in Nigeria and their fight over the oil producing region in Nigeria. They are taking a page from the Biafra insurgency. This will not bode well for Ghana.

They should go ahead and sue and let's see what becomes of their law suit. These 5 or 7 people with this strange agenda cannot hold the people of the regions to ransom in their quest for their own country, "Western Togoland". If they want to breakaway, there must be a referendum in that region so that the indigenes can determine their own destiny, something a actually against but in favour of in the name of democracy and self-determination.

I suspect there are some very evil people pushing the agenda of this group and the government and national security should start looking serious that the threat that this group is posing to the unity of Ghana. Something sinister is brewing and I can foresee the hands of some powerful people behind it.

People, could it also be that this group's idea was a product of the incessant demonisation of the people of this/these region(s) by some people and politicians? The group didn't say so though. Their explicitly stated concern is that they haven't seen any meaningful development over the years, but so have been other area of this country too.

My fear is that the seed that this group is sowing today may generate into something sinister for Ghana, like a seccession war as you see in Biafra (Nigeria) over oilfields. We have been told there is oil in the Volta basin and if am not wrong there GNPC has been engaged in exploration activities in the Volta region in time past and in recent past.

You are joking!!! No breakaway in Africa was and is peeaceful. I don't want to see my beautiful home town of Dodi-Papase turned upside down. Check Casamance in Senegal, failed Biafra in Nigeria, Eretrea in Ethiopia and Southerrn Sudan. they are all messed up. Only Western Cameroon came out peacefully to unite with the French part but that also is prblematic for them whe seeking jobs.
This group may have some historical facts but.... they shoul remember that one time Mr. Antor from Tafi tried and failed. Others also tried during Gen. I. K. Acheapong's time and failed so let sleeping dogs lie.
The geographical and historical facts are thet the real costal Anlos are not part of the former TVT (Trrans Volta Togoland). The line was drawn at Sogakope leaving the Agaves south trough Avenor up to Noepe in Togo so the troublesome Ewe group of Koku Anyidoho or is it (Anyi do Hohoe) will ever be a prrolem to Mother Ghana. Even the PhD Anloman will tell you hee is not an Ewe but an Anlo. That sometimes annoys me. Anlo is only a dilect of Ewegbe and not Ewe being a subset of Anlo, perriod. Remember the was no successful Coup d'ètat in Ghana without the Alo factor: eg, Lt! Gen! Kotoka & co., Col. Selormey & co., Capt. Tsikata & co., Flt. Lt. J. J. Rawlings & co., coupled with their Northern junior ranks of Salifu, Akataapore, Inussah, Dagarti, Sissala, Grunsi & co.
Unfortunately, these coup prone people formed the NDC core.... TOOOOOO bad for Mother Ghana.

To be frank, the idea of breakaway was not to join TOGO. No! NO! NO! it was to have a land locked small german colony between Ghana and Togo. Look at the development in your region compare to other regions. Look at our country everything is in Accra. Ghana needs to be decentralized for people to able to develop their regions.
