Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.
“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”,
In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”
“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”
He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”
“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”
“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

I think smart-government has figured out ways to fight back. Make them pay 200% insurance, they are reckless chimps behind wheels who envy hard working citizens with nice cars. They intimidate you with their worthless jalopies and always win the road wars. Let to wishing them all dead, I prefer stiff taxes and insurance. Last but not least, white people invented vehicles and machines, if you can't read or write English don't drive. You better hate all these white mans inventions as much as you hate their language culture and personality.
If I ever become President, Mayor or another dumb useless Minister, I promise you guys, I will force change. Black people don't reason nor dialogue, you just whip them into shape.

It is unfortunate that there is a lot of ignorance in our country. This stretches from intellectuals through journalists to artisans.
First off, there has been no increase of 300% in insurance premiums.Insurance premiums for third party is what has been increased.Previously, drivers paid as low as GHC39.95 for a year's cover and the amount of third party property, injury and death claims that arose especially from commercial vehicles with many occupants made the payment of claims difficult, slow and inadequate for innocent third party victims.Image a trotro or Neoplan bus with 21 passengers on board and involved in an accident and an insurance company needing to pay for a number of death and injury claims. If your father/mother/spouse is in any of those vehicles, how much will the insurance company pay your family to fully indemnify one family let alone the many families that may suffer the loss or injury of their family members.
What the insurers have sought to do is to charge premiums which are commensurate with the risks on our roads. For example, the premium payable now is GHC205 for a year which is still inadequate for the risks they are exposed to.This yearly premium of GHC205 works out averagely as 56 Ghana pesewas per day(which by the way is less than commercial cars, trotros and taxis pay as station dues for each day).So the taxis and trotros pay more money in a year to the station managers at places like Odawna and Kaneshie stations than they pay in insurance premiums and look at the state of those places especially when it rains.
The truth of the matter is the insurers have been sleeping on their duty to charge equitable premiums for so long and this is an attempt to correct the anomaly.
Regarding the drivers setting up their own insurance company, they do not have to because they have one already called Unique Insurance owned by the TUC of who GPRTU is a member. So they can go to Unique and ask their own company the basis of these increments.
There is just too much talk and ignorance in GH.Its important for people to as they say ''travel and see''. Just as an example, in Liberia the least motor third party insurance premium is US$200 a year and that's in a country with a depressed economy and slowly inching its way out of civil war.Ghanaians pay the least amount of insurance premiums in the west Africa subregion.
We have a peculiar situation in GH where people are able to afford vehicles worth thousands of dollars, sometimes imported and pay huge sums as duty, can afford to pay the astronomical cost of fuel for these gas guzzlers and yet when it comes for them to pay premiums to cover the risks that comes with those vehicles, they moan about it.
The insurers are partly to blame for this situation and they must now ensure the premiums charged are commensurate with the risks they take on.
