DKM customers liquidate company assets

Hundreds of customers of the troubled microfinance company DKM have started selling out properties of the company to defray debts it owes them.

About 20 DKM branded buses as a result have been impounded by the aggrieved customers who through various court orders were seen packing out properties of the company from the 3-storey building used as its headquarters in Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo regional Capital.

According to some of the customers who spoke to ultimate1069.com, it was the only legal option available for them to retrieve their locked up investments after fruitless attempts to retrieve their investments and its accrued interests.

“We are packing out the assets and we will take them to the court so we can liquidate to defray part of the money they owe us,” they revealed.

The latest action comes after a hint by the Governor of Bank of Ghana (BoG) Dr. Kofi Wampah that properties of operators of DKM Micro Finance and other micro finance institutions in the Brong-Ahafo region are to be confiscated, sold and the proceeds used to defray the monies of customers that have been locked up in these institutions.
