There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.

This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

The likes of Amasa Namoale must not get anywhere near our parliament, because he degrades it. He is a propagator of Tribal discrimination and therefore a nation wrecker.
He calls Nana Binaddo, closing his stupid eye to the fact that his useless president practically brought 2 TERRORRISTS to Ghana to endanger our lives.
Amasa Namoale insults everyone including executives of his own party. He said they are FRAUDSTERS AND PICKPOCKETS. Why must anybody vote for thieves then if that is the case? “Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”

“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”

He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”

“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”

“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”

However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

Indiscreet and insensitive statements like this by a person who has been appointed to head the EC by a govt whose stay in power was largely determined by either the dishonesty or incompetence of Afari-Gyan, now confirms to all of us that the woman is not impartial.

So far everything that has come out of her mouth over the past few days, shows that she has been put into that position to do a hatchet job for the NDC.

At the very least, even if she is not partisan, this woman is not mature enough to hold such a sensitive public position. She should know that the subject of Afari-Djan raise strong emotions in the public domain and for her to overlook those concerns and to go ahead and publicly praise him simply means that she is either looking for trouble or she is not sensible enough to know what she is doing or where she is at.

I do not hold any political sympathies for the NPP but looking at current developments, I have a deep worry about the future of the country.

This "wicked and insensitive government" for your information has started to implement Senior High School educational program, which will allow our kids to get free high school education. Though it was stated in 1992 Constitution, it started really worked only when government and Mahama opened the 1st SHS. Of course there are many more projects in infrastructure, medicine and agriculture which are under development now. So be thankful for having president like John Mahama!

Beside, with Senior High School (SHS) education program which was started by Mahama and government (the 1st school has been inaugurated already) more kids will have chance to get free high education, means be qualified to earn more. So, the situation maybe is not perfect, but definitely is not such a bad like NPP tries to show! I trust Mahama to continue projects he has started despite difficult economical situation all over the world!!

This should not be a nine day wonder. It should get results. In Flint, MI, USA, the citizens are demanding the resignation of the Governor because whilst he was drinking uncontaminated water, the citizenry were drinking contaminated water with all sorts of harmful elements and bacteria leading to serious health problems.
The people in Flint, MI will get results. That is how democracy and activism should be about. This should not be a nine day wonder. Change must come.

Why don't these workers go on strike to demand wage increases, instead of demonstrating against the recent hikes in fuel and utility prices.

It is workers who cause economic hardship, not government. If you don't produce and sell how do you get the cash to pay workers? You do not produce for the government to get the money to pay your salaries for you to better your living yet everyday you take to the street on demonstration, who should make the money for the government to pay you? Think and do better for a better Ghana than what you are doing now.
