Good deeds deserve a big push while incompetency deserves a change.
Koku, why should the international community continue to waste their resources on sorry a** regime like one in power right now?
Simply put this country is under the leadership of his incompetent-in-chief JDM, that is the reason international community and majority of Ghanaians want a change.

Why one person on his own decision treating Ghanaians like elementary school pupils? Does that person aware of terrorist cells in Sudan? Is that what he wants in Ghana? The brain behind this matter is beyond incompetency but but evil instigation against peace in Ghana. Ghanaians must examine the secrets between the ruling party NDC and their flirtations with the national security before the harm is done.

According to the President he respects the decision of the Christian council, Pentecostal, Methodist council, the National Chief Imam and the rest of the people of Ghana.
A decision has been taken……..
He has resolved to beef up the security monitoring on the two former detainees whilst in the country 24/7. Including their religious activities and telephone calls and text messages to ensure Ghanaians are highly safe.
With this he expects all the religious bodies to support him in this direction. People should tone down on the discussion and allow the 2 individuals to rebuild their lives for the sake of humanity.
This is a strong President who does not waiver

The point remains that these people are here to stay. ITS A DONE DEAL.
So we should rather look at ways of guarding or securing our our borders well, so as not to have any troublemakers and infiltrators, boko haram, fulani herdsmen who rape and kill, Chinese gunmen and any undesirables etc who come into Ghana to harm our people. That should be our focus now.
I hope JDM took some eyewatering amount of money and resources from the USA to take in the Gitmo two as its been at a great cost to GHANA.

What if the President decided that in secret? That is not the first time a President has decided on similar issues in secrecy.
That issue has a certain Security value for which the process had to be classified. Even folks who are adamant advocates of the FOIB would agree that in times like this, the President has the legal mandate to act alone in secrecy.
Given the facts of the case, the President did the right thing and did not endanger the Nation like his enemies would like us all to believe.
We have to show political maturity to make fair-minded assessment of what the President does, irrespective of our Political affiliations.
Most of the noises around this Gitmo two case are needless hype to facilitate any attempt to politically displace the President. Such is a case where the entire Country ought to think deeper to fully understand the circumstances and realize the good in the decision the President made. The President was well within his Authority to make that decision.
If others think by that decision our Executive seems to wield too much Power, we have to go back to the Parliament to seek amendments that curtail the Power of the Executive. But we cannot do so after the fact to turn this particular decision around.
We have witnessed many instances where the Presidents acted unilaterally, and close to contravening the Constitution but got away with all.
Many examples of that scenario exist in how our various deals were struck in secret by Presidents with foreign Companies to take over our Resources.
We got woefully sold out in those. And yet, we did nothing thereafter to curtail the Powers of the Presidency.
Long Live Ghana!!!

G.K. Berko, you are talking trash. The fact that previous governments did secret deals and got away with them doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT. This is a high security issue and for a president to take a unilateral decision to accept terrorists to live with us just because the USA wants it so doesn't mean the people of Ghana must also accept it lying down. Seeing your comments on other forums, all is support of what this Prez Mahama has done on this matter makes me wonder if U really have our country at heart, whether you are hiding behind a Ghanaian name to fulfill his master's voice, or what price you are willing to sell your conscience for. Right is right and wrong is wrong. If these detainees are no longer a security risk, why didn't the US government keep or integrate them in the USA? The fact that they were unable/unwilling to, and the fact that even in Ghana we are being told they are under strict surveillance should tell us something. Sometimes we have to get past our sycophancy, do some critical thinking, and realize that all that glistens isn't gold. Majority of Ghanaians aren't sold onto this misappropriation of executive power by the president, and you sound educated enough to realize that and accept that. I rest my case.

He therefore wants to spread fear, panic and misery throughout Ghana. Some of us youth from the Volta region will not vote for John Mahama and the NDC in 2016.
