Indiscreet and insensitive statements like this by a person who has been appointed to head the EC by a govt whose stay in power was largely determined by either the dishonesty or incompetence of Afari-Gyan, now confirms to all of us that the woman is not impartial.

So far everything that has come out of her mouth over the past few days, shows that she has been put into that position to do a hatchet job for the NDC.

At the very least, even if she is not partisan, this woman is not mature enough to hold such a sensitive public position. She should know that the subject of Afari-Djan raise strong emotions in the public domain and for her to overlook those concerns and to go ahead and publicly praise him simply means that she is either looking for trouble or she is not sensible enough to know what she is doing or where she is at.

I do not hold any political sympathies for the NPP but looking at current developments, I have a deep worry about the future of the country.

It is not dumsor that will defeat NDC rather the fact that that they are all empty shells with no common sense talk less any empathy for the misery of the people. Since the days of Solomon the qualities of successful leadership are well known. The Romans refined this and had an empire that lasted over a 1000 years and the elements are as follows . A great leader needs be among the top 5 % in wisdom that stems from almost divine perceptive justice , an expect in economics or today's macro economics , a general well versed in strategy and the art of war hence the title commander in chief , genuinely concerned for the welfare of the citizens hence the patriotism that stems from the loyalty to the majority of his subjects not the other way round as we see today etc. Pepeni/ayigbe idiots have no loyalty or love for no one except their own selfish tribalism/hegemony and thats why NDC will always fail as all they can promote is exploitation through corruption. If you cant even fix in peace time dumsor what will happen if there is an uprising or revolution involving millions . Their corrupt ministers are resigning because they need time to properly stash away their loot before the war starts. Donkor was one of the most corrupt and ashawo Dzifa after the port expansion deals and a few other things is one of the most richest women in Africa today. This selfish greedy corrupt minister is only a symptom of this criminal mafia full of anti Akan prejudice and hate. We pointed out last year that all their projects were burdened or tainted by immoral corrupt selfish greedy appetites of the ndc and the kleptomaniac brothers of pepeni omanhene. If these projects ever make it to parliament or the president they are normally half baked very flawed or contaminated as the monies that should have been invested in the project development were spent buying favor or bribing ndc foot-soldiers , bureaucrats , technocrats etc into compliance. Now pepeni realizes he has less than 2 months to actual start something spectacular that if it doesn't win him the elections at least secure him a sizable strong opposition. If there in no success story then NDC will be rejected en mass by the people and fall to 10% of support which will mean that party will never again be entrusted with the helm of government.

Below is the full statement from the Bank Of Ghana (BoG) over DKM Bank's saga. Now can you tell me as to where in their statement is Mahama name mentioned?

The Bank of Ghana has disclosed, that the embattled Sunyani-based DKM Diamond Microfinance Ltd, used customers’ deposits for excessive capital expenditure despite its low paid up capital of GH¢1 million, making it difficult to meet the depositors’ withdrawals on maturity.

The capital expenditure exceeded the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) specified threshold of not more than 25 per cent of paid-up capital.

According to the BoG, the microfinance company had invested as at May 11, 2015, an amount of GH¢16.06 million in property, plant and equipment, excluding the purchase of three ATMs and a new banking software.

Consequently, DKM Diamond Microfinance Ltd resorted to operating what BoG has described as “something close to a Ponzi scheme” – a fraudulent and unsustainable high yield investment scheme that uses high interests to entice unwary investors for the purpose of settling maturing yields.

The Sunyani-based microfinance company which was found by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to have flouted the regulations of the sector, had its operations suspended last year by the BoG, resulting in legal action, alleged vandalism, kidnapping and an attempted acid attack by angry and frustrated customers who would have no substitute explanations for their money.

The moratorium on its operations was lifted mid-September 2015 and DKM Diamond Microfinance Ltd claims to have paid GH?48,732,282.75 as at November 28, 2015, of a total GH¢115.24 million it had in deposits, though it is yet to fulfil the Bank of Ghana’s request for evidence of the payments.

Among its violations to regulations of the sector and to the Banking Act 2004 (Act 673), BoG said the microfinance company also maintained unsustainable interest rates despite several discussions, and did not keep accurate and credible accounts of transactions in its books, consequentially misreporting to the BoG.

It was also found to be overexposed to its affiliate companies: DKM Mining Ltd, DKM Transport Ltd, DKM Shea Butter Ltd, DKM Gas Filling Station and DKM Cement Depot Ltd.

According to the Bank of Ghana, the company also had liquidity mismatches. It granted three to four year loans to its affiliates which were funded by short-term fixed deposits and maturities. Against the total deposits and interest of GH¢115.24 million, its liquid assets amounted to only GH¢11.8 million and accumulated losses GH¢21.02 million.

It is good that the president is saying exactly what I said few days ago. There is no quick way of making money. So if someone promise a 50% or even 20% interest on your savings or any money that you lend, they are lying to you. Don't be full some Ghanaians. The government need to seize all their properties, sell them, and give the money back to the people that were defrauded.

The same thing should apply to the politicians including anybody that hold public office / job. If they are caught abusing public trust / office (i.e., property, finance, travel, position, bribes, etc.),they should be kicked out of office, take their personal property, or put them in jail depending on the severity of the issue. If the government will enforce the law this way, all the stupidities in Ghana will drop or stop drastically.

Every time one gets on the forum hoping to engage in civil discourse all in our quest to see a forward march of our nation, one is greeted with insults and nothing else. Is this the way we want treat ourseleves? No wonder Nigerians in Ghana always refer to us as talkative. Let it be known to all that insults on this forum can't win elections for any party in Ghana. How many are computer literate to be able to get on this forum to read our comments? Bank of Ghana itself acted fraudulently against Ghanaians and got away with it,indeed Ghanaians ve short memories,do you remember when they introduced this bogus law to confiscate people's fillers at banks and paid cedi equivalent much lesser than the price people bought them from the black market to enable them import goods?do you know how much money they made through this criminal act?again they said they were injecting 20 million dollars daily to stabilize the cedi only for it to rise to where it's today.DKM was approved by BoG so how can they turn round and call them a fraudulent company?now Mtn has left it core mandate as a telecommunications providers and operating as a micro finance company intact including Vodafone,so re we going to wake up one day to be told that they don't ve the requisite license to operate as such?.Fuel prices ve been increased and we don't even know if the pumps ve been adjusted well to avoid stealing,I noticed a change when I visited tamale and bought fuel,it's the only place I can say ve the pumps well adjusted because people buy fuel as low as 5 cedis so it can be detected when they try to steal but here in Accra unsuspecting motorists re being cheated every day and standards board allows that because they don't care.
