Just imagine they are asking teachers who have been teaching for decades to produce their MSLC and O'Level certificates that they used to enter training colleges which some of them cannot even find forgeting that these are professional teachers who produced these certificates before they were admitted many decades ago and they passed their teaching certificate exams and teaching for decades with many about to retire.
Are we saying if they don't produce those certificates they do not need anymore they cannot continue to teach, what has those certificates which have been rendered useless as a result of having their professional certicates got to do with the work they are doing,how can you ask Assistant Director or any senior teacher to produce his MSLC or O' Level certificates instead of his teaching certificates,are teachers not posted directly by GES headquarters after their training,why not GES produce all the teachers they posted from the headquarters instead of harassing the poor teachers who have to leave the classrooms travelling all over the country to look for their certificates which can affect teaching,can we at least for once sit down to think before we give directives?

Ghana needs to move forward in our educational system by becoming modern and learning from other countries with developed educational systems. In Ghana, once one finishes a teacher training college, that person becomes a teacher for the rest of that person's life. Teachers who graduate from training colleges should be made to pass a Certification Board Exams. In GA, teachers are required to take a certain number of refresher courses at accredited universities within a four year period for their certification to be maintained. It must be repeated every three to four year or a teacher loses the certification to teach. (I believe that some old time teachers in Ghana still teach that Pluto is a planet.) This applies to even PhD holders. This open teachers up to new ideas. Those courses are taken with just a little financial support from the state. You want to teach, you bear the cost.
The world is changing at a faster rate that the government should help teachers to become abreast with new methods and issues. We are just wasting time in investigating teachers. Who employed them? Why didn't they notice of fake certifications. There is inefficiency and lack of effective supervision everywhere due to corruption. After investigations, what happens next? Fire irresponsible senior officials who took bribes and employed them.
