The suggestion that the president has asked him to go or be sacked is even more shocking to me. How many of the ministers who have done worse things have been sacked by this president? The electricity problems in Ghana did not start 4 years ago. The problem has been around for over 10 years, let's be honest with ourselves. Even if the load shedding has not ended completely a lot has been achieved since March, more than in the past 10 years.
Can we be honest and ask ourselves why it has been reported this morning that explosions have occurred in some substations in Kumasi resulting in most of the city without power? What is the real cause of the drums or? Substations going up in explosions just when Dr Donkor announces end of load shedding? A very sad day indeed if it is true that Dr Donkor has really resigned.

If anything at all the entire government of NDC should have resigned and elections called immediately to replace them. The man is simply an honest , selfless and principled person. He set himself a target which the president could not set but should have done. When he did not achieve it he stepped aside. Ministers preside over 50% depreciation in currency, wrongful or intentional overstatement of contracts, ignorant or intential money laundery, little or no added value to their sector ministry but nothing happens . This is possibly because of the absence of competent persons to set the right targets for such ministries. I will assign the former power minister the role of setting KEY PERFROMANCE INDICATORS for ALL ministries and that will ultimately ensure we weed out most of the incompetent ministers and raise the bar to the appropriate level where ministers will be trully adding value to the country and ensureing such added value impacts a significant percentage of the population. The man did not come to amass wealth, hence set his own targets and has lived by his word. Not too many of such persons still around in the various political parties!!
Note that some have also stolen enough like the other one who resigned recently and jumped on the 1st opportunity to leave the seen !! so she can go home and squander her butty!! no questions asked. Mr PRESIDENT please set transparent targets like the power minister did for all ministers and Ghana will definately be a better place by the end of the year and you may also attract some floating intellectuals to enhance the presidency!!

Lets strategize and explore the implementation of Nuclear Power Generation Plants as long term solution. Lets be build on the last few days of load shedding. The problems will continue to exist in different localities cos of transformer and transmission breakdowns.
