Usually, veeps do not have any significant roles to play in any administration. For Akuffo-Addo to predict that Bamumia will be the most successful veep is an indication of things to come. As old as Akuffo-Addo is, Ghanaians should not expect him to have the energy and zeal to dedicate to the job. He most likely will delegate the majority of his duties to Bawumia. Ghanaians should therefore be cognizant that they will be voting indirectly for Bawumia to the presidency instead of Akuffo-Addo.

Nana Addo needs to focus his energies on convincing enough of the electorate living in 10 different Regions to vote NPP & get elected. Personally, I think although the NDC are an unpopular Government, they are good at mobilising support in their following strongholds: Volta, Upper East, Upper West & Northern Regions. Since 2008, you can also add Brong-Ahafo. These are 5 out of 10 Regions and even more worrying for the NPP, is the fact that claims that they are an Akan-based political party are wide of the mark. For example, can they rely on winning the majority of votes in the Western, Central or Bron-Ahafo Regions? I do not believe that they can? The recent bye-election in the Western Region proves this point. A NDC stronghold in a Region where Akans are the majority ethnic group. NPP needs to focus on losing its Akyem/Ashanti tag and appeal to other ethnic groups otherwise Nana Addo has zero chance of winning next year. Nana Addo also needs to cut out his numerous trips abroad, and campaign particularly in the rural areas.
Like or hate him, J.A. Kufuor was able to reach beyond voters in the Ashanti & Eastern Regions.
The question is can Nana Addo achieve this feat at the third attempt?
