Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.
“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”,
In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”
“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”
He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”
“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”
“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

This ex-MP is talking rubbish because MPs are not elected to attend funerals. In another suggestion, he claims Ghana needs just about 105 MPs so that their salary could be doubled. Why did he not make these suggestions when he was an MP? At independence Ghana had more than 100 MPs so how can he suggest that after 58 years of independence it should be the same. The current number of MPs is high but that does not justify reducing the figure to 105. How realistic is that? Is it just to double their salaries so they can pay for and attend funerals?

How could a Mickey Flick country like Ghana, whose population is about only 25 million, have as many as 275 MPs and about 90 ministers, deputy ministers and the many yooyoos assigned to the presidency?? Can’t we do with just 100 MPs (i.e., 1 MP represents 250,000 +or— in a constituency)? That’s Kool in a 3rd world country!!
The United States of America, the richest nation on Earth, has a population of 350 million people but has only 535 Congressmen & women (i.e., 100 Senators and 435 Representatives in the House (HR). So, proportionally, based on Ghana's model, then USA should have as many as 3,850 Senators & HR Congressmen/women for its population.
Well, try China and India for size:
China's population is about 1.4 BILLION and India's is nearly 1 Billion. So, how many MPS or parliamentarians should these two countries have? Zillions or what??
Ghana has too many MPs, who are doing virtually nothing to help the nation's development. But, most importantly: “If the salary is that small and no good, then why are sitting MPs and aspiring MPs killing themselves to be elected to parliament?” WHY, Negro?? Why not go into an area where you could make more money?? Further, what the former MP said is not all that true—very economical with the truth!!
MPs have FREE housing (bungalows), they pay no phone bills, pay no utility bills (electric, water & sewage), the car loans are never paid off (they're free in disguise), they receive sitting allowances on several committees, they collect huge “per diems” on frivolous travels and they've other FREEBIES, that Ken Dapaah is not telling you about.
Now, check the unemployment rate in Ghana, inflation, hospitals/clinics, the roads, education, housing, wages, etc., etc., and you tell me "HOW EFFECTIVE HAVE THESE MPS BEEN SOLVING THE NATION'S PROBLEMS, thus deserving huge salaries?
$$ So, Ken, if the salary is no good, then “tell your MP friends to QUIT parliament” and go do something else, otherwise THEY'RE DUMB-ASS NEGROES—if they continue to be in parliament!!$$ Didn’t we see what went on during the NPP & NDC primaries?? Sitting MPs were doing everything to get re-elected!!

Particularly if the deceased comes from a good family. That is what they spend their money on.
Both NPP and NDC are the perpetrators of this practice.
My uncle passed away who doesn't belong to any political party. It happens one of my nephew is an NPP member who doesn't carry any weight in the family. Also one of my aunties husband is an NDC chairman.
I was shocked at the funeral ground political strategist how to demonstrate to show popularity their party slogans. Money and drinks to the family as if my uncle was king pins of any of these parties.

What is GNP? Each Ghanaian is entitled to $1000 the whole year. You get $2100 a month ($25,000 a year) and you think it's small. You need to grow up.
