After stealing all the money in the country, resulting in unprecedented hardship and forcing companies to leave the country as a result of the worsening economic situation, they've again compounded the situation by involving themselves in lawlessness and violent watergating to cling to power criminally.

It's a fundamental duty of any government to provide security for life and property in the country, but P/NDC has also failed in that too.

SOURCE: myjoyonline.com------Executive Director of the National Anticorruption Action Plan (NACAP) says they would be compelled to go to court to demand accountability from government over its failure to retrieve monies wrongly paid to individuals in judgement debt.

Mrs. Linda Ofori Kwafo is baffled at government’s lackadaisical approach to pursuing beneficiaries of such monies.

The anticorruption campaigner was speaking on the Super Morning Show, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in connection with the announcement by Deputy Attorney-General Dominic Ayine government that Gh?14.5million had been retrieved as part of the illegal money paid to contractors of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA).

President Mahama at a conference organized by NACAP on Monday, also disclosed that about 300 people have either been convicted or are facing trial for corruption-related offenses in Ghana since 2013.

“It is disheartening…We need a breakdown of the information they put across there,” Mrs. Ofori Kwafo retorted. According to her, “ the GYEEDA case is small”.

She recalled the “good cases” won in court by former Attorney-General Martin Amidu in which individuals and organisations that benefited from such wrongful payments were ordered by the Supreme Court to return the monies to the state.

The Supreme Court in June 14, 2013, ordered Waterville Holdings Ltd. to return to the state in excess of 21million Euros obtained illegally arising out of claims it brought against the state in 2009. A week after, the court again ordered businessman Alfred Woyome to refund a total of Gh?51.2 million judgement debt payment he received between 2009 and 2010.

The Court in another landmark judgment on July 29, 2014, ruled that Spanish-based Company, Isofoton pay back to the state a total of $325,472 and the interest accrued on the amount since 2011- the year in which the monies were paid.

“The amounts involved are huge…we need such monies to move our economies forward and government officials are silent on them,” the NACAP Executive Director questioned.

“Civil Society Organisations want to make the recovery of such monies…they should give us the detailed breakdown for us to know the progress that we are making.

“We cannot go and collect the monies; the state has a responsibility…we need the resources,” she demanded.

She hints the Civil Society Organisations will not hesitate to choose the option of “going to court and demanding for accountability so far us government’s responsibility in the fight against corruption is concerned”.

“We have also signed onto the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, which actually mandates us to be able to recover stolen assets that have been hidden outside this country. If within the borders of our own nation we cannot retrieve monies then how well would we able to retrieve [stolen state funds lodged] in Swiss banks and the rest?

“It’s no wonder, therefore, when citizens say that…they don’t actually have trust and confidence in government’s ability to fight corruption,” she told Kojo Yankson, host of the Show.

Your tagging of the illegality of Acting Chairman Freddie Blay will not wash. It is an orchestrated political agenda which can be traced to the bedroom of the presidency. The President's speeches of late weeks, point to this. The constitutition of the NPP automatically makes the first vice chairman of the party, the acting chairman, in case the chairman of the party is found incapable of carrying on, as in the case on hand. So why should elements of another party, get so worried about this simple issue. I believe, President Mahama and his hatchet men in the Ndc succeeded to let Afoko behave like Ayariga. The only difference is that Afoko was not instructed to generate a cough, when Nana Addo is about to answer questions. Afoko's brief was to create mischief, which he succeeded to a large extent in implementing, until he shot himself in the foot.
Strictly speaking, what went on at dawn at the NPP office is exactly what took place at the Democratic Party head office in the USA . The sitting president and his men, ordered a break-in into the offices of the then opposition party. They we're found out through the vigilance of journalists, working for the good of America. The President resigned his position when it became obvious he was going to be
impeached. What makes the dawn raid at the NPP head office and it's annex frightening, is that, it was carried out in the dead of night. Reminicent of the rounding up, killing and burning the bodies of the three High Court Judges and the Military Officer in 1982. History should teach us useful lessons. In one heavy breath, you have conducted your own investigations, then in another asking the police to undertake another investigation even though you have already accused them and the army of having a hand in the raid. Meanwhile, the police have started investigation yet, you did not wait for their report before going public with your rabbit press conference.

This is a stage managed stunt by NPP to cover the problems engulfing the party and to divert attention from the incompetence of their flag bearer and the involvement of OPANA Blay in the financial scandal of the party. Again, NPP has not been able to provide the Electoral Commission with their so called Togolese voters register and this is one way of covering up that the register has been stolen. However, NPP has done a kindergarten investigation by not been able to provide the registration number/s of at least one or any of the police or army vehicles in question. NPP should also provide Ghanaians with the army or police unit that raided the party headquarters. The should be able to provide which army officer or unit commander who issued the uniforms as the claimed. The party has also failed to mention which type of weapons being used. As President Mahama said recently that if NPP can insult ex-president Kufuor and kill their own members then, he coming from the opposite polical group/party will not be spared but grounded in earthen ware. This is a sign that NPP as a party is imploding as they come up with every conspiracy theory in the word is against them. Nobody should trust and believe NPP again. They have taken Ghanaians for granted with their numerous and fanciful lies from pink sheet to Togolese Register and now NDC raiding their party headquarters. This can only be the work of losers and useless people.

Clearly, Ghana's democracy from what has transpired so far is under threat. Provided the Police wants to do a good job. Again the Police should come out with the names of the people who handed over the weapons to them. They should be questioned. In cordon and search operations at least one of the occupants of the premises should be present before search is conducted. Then again in well organized cordon and search operations it is the police who do the search not Military. One of the stories says the security guards were holding the weapons and they disarmed them. Another side of the story says the weapons were found in one of the offices. During the revolution time these were the tricks the military were using to incriminate innocent people and killed them at the Castle. President Mahama I advise you to get involve and fish out the perpetrators of this crime. If not your name and your Gov't name will never get out from this case. No matter how the Police are influence to twist the case posterity will not forgive NDC.

2)Who was the Millitaryman identified by The Securityman who escaped
NPP has avoided this issue in todays press conference because it will expose the lie that Millitarymen of the Ghana armed forces invaded their office.
The man who escaped recognized somebody with the Millitary who lived near his home.
It is thus the best lead as to which people raided the Office.
The Police must press for this information.
