All we know is our backward way of doing things. We don't see the need to improve our livelihoods or join the race of innovation! Whilst the whole world is moving on to greater heights in the area of technology, development, healthcare, etc, etc.. we are still celebrating these backward festivals to appease some kind of gods.. For a president to attend such a useless event tells me Ghana as a whole has no priorities anymore. It's now being ransacked by fake politicians, fake pastors, useless celebrities and western economic vultures! Now these ewe people should quietly celebrate their primitive festival and not disturb our ears with it! It's of no national importance. At the end of the day we know these hardcore tribalists will still pledge their loyal support for the most incompetent political party (ndc) ever to rule our dear nation!

To commission is the act of committing or entrusting a person, group, etc., with supervisory power or authority. Of course, you cannot investigate the civil or public service with an authority allowing that to happen.
To sponsor is to provide funds for (a project or activity or the person carrying it out). Or to introduce. and supports a proposal for legislation. Amidu is not claiming this!
Get the difference and don't let the media mislead you.

I wonder when Christians will stop claiming hegemony over all other religions. If one really has a problem with his/her own culture, then he must stop practising it! That person must stop in performing Akan naming ceremonies, stop conducting funerals in the Akan fashion, stop pouring libation, stop engaging in Akan festivals such as Akwasidae, stop the practice of customary marriages, even stop bearing an Akan soul/day names, since they have a spiritual connection to the cosmology of the Akan people. They must also avoid praising Nyame/Nyankopon since this is how the Akans referred to their creator.They must stop practising all aspects of their culture.One cannot say I embrace my culture, but I reject the spiritual aspect of it. This is not possible, one does not exist without the other.
