Security analyst Dr. Kwesi Annin has advised the political parties in the country to be bold and punish miscreants within their ranks in order to instill discipline among their membership.

According to him, until the major political parties are able to take such a measure, the creeping political violence will get out of hands as the country gears up for the 2016 elections.

His comments come on the back of the killing of a member of the New Patriotic Party in Kumasi over the internal wrangling that has engulfed the biggest opposition party.

Speaking to Nii Arday Clegg on the Morning Starr Monday, the security lecturer said the growing intra-party violence must be nip in the bud immediately.

“My reading is that this actions are not as innocent and uncoordinated as they may seem. We need intelligence, we need to methodically approach it.

“We need to ask ourselves questions to understand who is leading it, who is organizing and how they are funded and bused around the country. Because we need to nip it in the bud before the real campaign starts.

"But for me, the onus lies on ensuring that there is politics of ideas and many more. It is good people have been arrested, but I will like to see the parties sanction people and sanction who seems to be the cartel in their own parties,” he stated.
