He actually contradicts himself by his example drawn from the US in which a legal firm is challenging counties with bloated electoral rolls. This clearly indicates it is not an acceptable default position. He may have issues with the NPP, but this should not compromise his sense of logic.

Asante, you are Ghanaian - has anybody in your family notified the EC about the last few deaths in your family? No. I am not worried about dead people coming to vote. The youth and illegal/ foreigners found on the list can come and vote if their names still remain in the register. Were we not told EC was cleaning the register? But for this follow up by the NPP, who would have admitted that there were issues with the register? Afari Gyan could not give us a list of people he registered abroad. How can they be expunged from the list if we don't even have the names? We know they are on the list, but the one who registered them cannot give us their names. How can they be cleaned off this register?

But the example Dr. Wireko gave to buttress his argument against the idea of bringing the US into this foray is not true. Bloated voters' register(s) was a ploy used by the Neo-cons of the GOP to find ways to disenfranchise the minorities, the poor, and people of color. Those assertions have been found to be bogus; the people behind these false claims were unable to prove them in court.

My worry stems from the fact that other nationals who read such trash from Ghana PhDs, like Dr. Wereko, will view our bright boys and girls in overseas universities and international institutions in the same backward light. In effect, the PhD holder is saying, all the parties have benefitted from the bloated register therefore, it should be business as usual. Some PhD thesis.

We have to allow EC to do its mandate as independent entity and if EC request for help then yeah but it seems like we want to take the job from EC and do it ourselves. How can a new register be crredible than what we have now? None of those people requesting for new register is talking about long term solution which will help the country but something that can they benefit from. How can we stop these foreigners if infact there is any to register again and how can we prevent the minors to register again? So if we found something that's not suppose to be in the register why can't we take it out because after the new we will have to clean it before it can be used. If the biometric device cannot detect foreigner and a minor then what's the use? Acussing the EC officials of illegality and still call for new register for the same people to work on make no sense because whatever some people think they did will not be prevented just because of new register. If you have evidence against them take it to court so that whoever found guilty can be punished to remove the election malpractices. A lot of concerns need to be addressed and i think new register is the least to talk about in terms of malpratices.

The NPP party entered into the game when the greater part of Ghanaians were obviously fed up with J.J Rawlings and his long overdued regime and therefore was embraced without any political scrutiny by the people.The leaders of NPP to the advantage of the situation and gathered themselves anyhow to enjoy the voters honour.Instead of strenghining some structures and polish/finish what were unpolished/unfinished within the part,they've chosen to relax and feel confortable thinking that Ghanaians are always the same and would never be prompted to take the party to a political laboratory for diagnosis or analysis.
Most Ghanaians are now astonished to discover,from the recent happenings in the party,that the reality of NPP is totally different from what they painted to win our votes( in 2000 and 2004).
We thought NPP was a united and a well organized party now here we are with the most disunited and disorganized party Ghana has ever had.
We thought that NPP a party filled with patriots and intellectual nationalists who are capable of solving the Ghanaian political and economic problems in a Ghanaian context to bring back the national pride and free Ghanaians totally from dependency but here we are overtaken by some mere party disputes and no competency can be traced to prove any intellect.And the most annoying is how some supposed intellectuals in the party are depending on American politicians for a solution to a Ghanaian votters register without any shame or feelings of imaturity.
