The NPP Constitution and its basic rules and regulations were in place and binding on all its members before some were elected to executive positions. So, being an elected executive member or party chairman doesn't mean that Afoko can't be disciplined according to the party's basic laws.

For instance, the president of Ghana is subject to the basic laws of Ghana, and if he flouted any of them, he could be impeached and removed from office even though he was elected by some Ghanaians. Also, President Nixon was removed from office because of his involvement in the Watergate Scandal.

Mr. Afoko was said to have been invited many times to defend and exonerate himself from the serious allegations leveled against him. But he failed to do so clinging to technicalities that did not help his course or that of the party, and the misconduct led to the application of the party disciplinary rules against him. This is the Democracy and the rule of law that exists in the NPP party, and it shows that nobody is above the law in the party.

Is it right for Paul Afoko to continue to chair the party, whose regional chairman was politically murdered by some persons including, a Gregory Afoko, brother of Paul Afoko? The first thing the suspended chairman should have done on learning of his brother's involvement in the murder, was for him to have stepped aside, until the final determination of the matter. A National Chairman with morals would have taken this path.

The answer is YES!!. The fact that Afoko's brother murdered somebody does not mean Afoko has to be relieved of his post. Paul and Gregory are totally different and completely independent adults. Why did the police not arrest and charge Paul instead of Gregory for the alleged murder? This means your reasoning is soo warped and not based on law, especially fundamental human rights od every individual. Know that Ghana's Constitution guarantees such rights and freedoms for every individual Ghanaian. Shame on you then! No one has the right to punish you for a crime that you did not personally commit ok!

Yes, Gregory Afoko was implicated in the acid against Adams Mahama, the Upper East Regional chairman of the party leading to his death.

The police went ahead and arrested Gregory Afoko based on an aide to the late chairman called Usman Zakaria, who claimed to have heard the chairman before he was sent to the hospital that Gregory Afoko and one Asagba as the attackers on his life. The Court Of Public Opinion may opine that Paul Afoko is the possible and the only candidate behind this gruesome attack on Chairman Adams Mahama since he is having some hoopla already with Adam.

However, the real Law Court does not work that way, hence the reason that Gregory Afoko was arrested, but not his senior brother Paul. I have heard some even coming out to say that Paul Afoko should have step aside when the brother was named in that heinous crime. Well, that is not a must when he is not directly implicated or conspired to that crime in any way. Gregory Afoko being Paul Afoko's junior brother does not make the latter a murderer until the law says otherwise. Learn, NPP, learn.

If the suggested meeting was not called by the chairperson, then a number or a percentage of the executive committee that constitutes a quorum(or as prescribed in the party's constitution) can call for such a meeting.. All those behind Afoko desired to see the NPP for that matter Nana Addo lose the elections. I believe these are in the minority and are seeking their personal interest.
About 98% of the delegates voted for Nana Ado to be the NPP's flagberear- overwhelming indeed. About 49% of the delegates voted for Afoko to be the chaiman of the NPP. This is just about half of the delegates. I believe the delegates intended that the officers elected for the party were to assist the flagbearer to win the 2016 elections.Anything short of this is never in the interest of the delegates and the generality of the members of the NPP. Per the numbers gotten by Afoko, half of the delegates didnot accept the chairmanship of Afoko even though he had the highest mark among those for the chairmanship position. This should tell Afoko that anything done against the flagberear will not be accepted.
I believe Afoko was given the nod to be the chairman based on the assurance to the delegates of leading the NPP to win political power only to reverse the gear of detracting from the assurance he had given to the delegates. Probably if the election of party chairman is done today, Afoko will never be elected as chairman of the party based on recent developments in the party. The delegates and the generality of the NPP very much need political power without which their being in NPP is not necessary.
If there are some individuals in the party ho are promoting Afoko to do the things they are doing, time will tell. I want to assure these people they will live and will not realise their dreams of becoming president of this great ountry of ours. I will not tell them what some of will do. It is premature now to say.
I dont know Akufo Addo, I have not seen him personally before, I hhave not talk to him personally or through somebody but I hold the strong believe the presidency of Nana is far better than the presidency of Mahama.I weant to see better things during my years in theis country. So I wish for every Ghanaian except those who have forces with the NDC nad the goverment to rip off the country.
I also wish to advisr Afoko that he is destroying his political career if he does nmot buck down because the majority of Ghanaians who are silent do not support the way he is going. He is being seen as anti progress of this country since the current leadership of the country are leading us into doom.

I do not think the law Suit is a reasonable attempt on the part of Afoko to seek Justice.The question is, how would Afoko work or discharge his duties in an environment where peaceful co-existence cannot be guaranteed by other Managers of the Party(those he sued). And what jurisdiction has a Court over the Decision of a Political Party's Council of Elders,aside from interpretation of the tenets/constitution of the Party. Even if the Case is ruled in favour of Afoko on the grounds that,the meeting was illegitimate and therefore the decision by the Council is Non and Void,it would only escalate to more divisions in the Party to the disadvantage of their fortunes/ Chances of Winning the Elections.
This is what happens,when people think the entire Conservative Elders should be Voted out of Office to give way to Radical liberals, instead of a blend of both,rampant Tension or Confusions is what await you.
If I were Afoko,I would allow,because the Chairmanship position in the Party is not the only area my Service is indeed needed.The ultimate aim is to Win the Elections,come 2016.
