The reason is that, Nana Akuffo-Addo's height has always been used against him by the uninformed majority of voters. If that was the case, why on earth should NPP delegates vote a man-mountain as Chairman to directly contrast the flag bearer? Look, the few occasions the two came together, Paul Afoko's overbearing stature dwarfed Nana.

Why? This was not good Nana. It was like father and son. These northerners can overgrow! Now we have the right team: Nana Addo, Freddy Blay and Kwabena Agyepong. Triplets! No gargantuan team member.

The Anti-Akan spin doctors led by the Ewes have started as expected: NPP has suspended Afoko because he is a Northner. Going by their own tribal campaign of branding the NPP Akan, who voted for Afoko in the first place? Was it the Ewe NDC? Afoko should be lucky that he has merely been suspended for all the own goals he has been deliberately scoring against the NPP just for his 'brother'Northner to continue to misrule Ghana. He Afoko himself, when his fellow Northner disagreed with him what happened? His brother Gregory poured acid on him and killed him. Paul Afoko cannot say he knows nothing about this. In the NDC in 1996, when Veep Arkaah disagreed with them, Rawlings physically beat him at a Cabinet Meeting. Ewe Rawlings also killed Akan Heads of States and later also tormented President Mills to his death. Nobody in Ghana said that was anti Akan. PV Obeng used all his life ignorantly supporting the Ewe Anti Akan cause. When the NDC lost power in 2000, he was abandoned. He had to seek refuge in Asante Kotoko board membership under Hebert Mensah.Yes, home sweet home. Remember that Rawlings and E.T. Mensah did all they could to sink Kotoko and raise Hearts, something still going on. Good decision by the NPP to suspend Afoko.

Arthur Kennedy has tried to brush away the typical behaviour of the virulently bigoted, "No court, No court!" tradition by maligning the CPP 'cos of the actions of that visa racketeer Blay and the position of that confused Kweku Baako.

What is happening in the NPP is EXACTLY how they behave. That party was founded on the tradition of Akan chauvinism and bigotry. For the PP to win the 1969 Gen. Elections, Busia and his hirelings had to thrash Ewes in the most heinous way. An extended quote from Dennis Austin, that great chronicler of Ghana history, captures the gist of it, so here we go:

“A surprising and disagreeable novelty of the election was the extraordinary anti-Ewe sentiment that was expressed in conversation with many of those who were against Gbedemah and his party. One can explain this strong animus not simply by a dislike of Gbedema’s reappearance in political life but in relations to events after the 1966 coup. Suddenly there were the soldiers and the police, and everyone burst out singing, but when the music died down away it was noticed that the NLC (it seemed) was commanded by minorities: Ewe and Ga. When Ankrah (a Ga), was moved out, and charges were brought over-hastily by Harlley against the Chief of Defence Staff, Michael Otu, the evidence to many was overwhelming. It was all an Ewe plot. Soon Ghana would be run for the benefit of an energetic minority, operating first within the armed forces, and now behind Gbedemah. ‘Appoint an Ewe to a public corporation or to a government department and within a year the entire hierarchy down to the messenger will be an Ewe.’ So the argument ran. And there was always some evidence for it, since the Ewe, deprived of any natural wealth in their own barren region, have been energetic in seizing the opportunities of public employment, including positions in the army and the police, which wealthier communities (like the Akan) did not wish to occupy. In practice, looking through the list of senior officers in government department and the public corporations, the evidence is certainly not clear of any Ewe domination: it could hardly be in view of their number. But a belief does not, of course, have to be true before people hold it fervently.
Now there is an Akan-dominated government of an Akan dominated society. Were I to become, by some improbable chance of fate, leader of the governing party I would be much less apprehensive of my Ewe opponents in front than of the large and expectant following behind. I would be fearful too of the ambitions of those now excluded from power, remembering the Songs of Innocence that:
The strongest poison ever known
Came from Caeser’s laurel crown” (D. Austin 1976:125)

And we know of how the opposition to the PNDC became an Akan quest, thereby forcing many a progressive to distant themselves from them. When the NDC imploded prior to the 2000 elections and the Nkrumahist forces joined to vote for Kufuor in the second round we all saw what happened. "Proceed on leave for a forensic audit to be undertaken of your outfit" became the mantra which they used to unceremoniously ruined the career of many people, mostly Ewes and others seen rightly or wrongly as sympathetic to the NDC. I got a first hand report of how Tarzan messed up the lives of some staff of the VRA. Mr Dokyi, an Asante often mistaken to be and Ewe, received his "sacking" letter from his watchman when he came out of the bathroom at home.

The NPP is a lawless party, just as the generality of the Ghanaian society. Above all, they have all the terribly ethnocentric and bigoted jerks who make a habit of insulting Ewes and Northerners on Ghanaweb in particular. Is Arthur K are of this? Does he think such a thing makes the NPP a desirable party for Ews and Northerners? And the Gas who are supposed to be killed alongside Ewes? Arthur K and his ilk can fool themselves but he can't fool some of us.

Is being in opposition the new fashion for these Negroes in the NPP? Most of us, sympathizers, are getting sick and tired of this childish behavior in the NPP. Why the constant bickering among the leadership of the party? Is it personal ego, scramble for power and position, control of the party's funds or what, Negro? The NPP would be losing the NORTH in 2016, because of this Afoko wahala!! Is this a curse or self-tailor-made problem?

With the endless dumsor-dumsor (which has been destroying businesses), high unemployment, high inflation, higher prices of goods and services, armed robberies, bad roads, empty hospitals and clinics, labor agitations and strikes, etc., etc., couldn't the NPP figure out that they had good political campaign tools against the NDC, but by sheer foolishness and power struggle, they've clearly squandered that opportunity?

THE NPP HAS BEAUTIFULLY DUG ITS OWN GRAVE AT A FINE-FINE CEMETERY, BOUGHT A NICE HEADSTONE & PAID FOR ONE OF THE EXOTIC COFFINS IN GHANA FOR ITS BURIAL IN 2016!! So, what should the NPP write on the burial headstone?? Should Ghanaians Have To Provide Height Boosters To Nana Akufo-Addo Just To Become Presidentiable?

It is now obvious from various discussions and debates that Nana Akufo-Addo is not presidentiable because he does not have a positive result-driven platform to develop Ghana; and he does not have the leadership trait to lead Ghana as well. In my previous article entitled "Can A “Funny” Man Become President In Ghana?", I made reference to the critical role physical appearance can play in political leadership, especially when it comes to height. This statement is not discriminatory, it is not heightism, but it is a scientifically driven account when it comes to leadership.

The idea that height affects the chances of attaining leadership positions is consistent with a large body of evidence from the psychology. Based on the flip flop in the baseless promises being made by Nana Akufo-Addo just to gain vote clearly indicates how psychologically unstable he is, thus not presidentiable. I am not denying him a leading role. Although this affirmation may be painful to some minorities, and too difficult to accept, Nana just cannot lead because he does not have the character and the traits to become a leader of a nation, Ghana.

Today, my position on physical trait and political leadership is consolidated by stance taken by IEA in Ghana to help NPP's Nana Akufo-Addo boost its image. The IEA provided the NPP candidate with a 1-foot raised platform hidden behind his podium on which he stood to tower over his much taller contestants for an obvious psychological advantage..... According to Mr. Wayoe, the IEA had confirmed the presence of the raised platform......... If the NPP flag bearer were tall, would he had needed a height booster?

Nana Akufo-Addo is pretty short. In general, short statured men, like Nana Akufo-Addo, are unsuccessful in career and politics and they are unlikeable tyrants in need of compensating for "something" they are missing. Nana Akufo-Addo is so short that he needs a raised platform to elevate himself to the level of his peers or to enhance his height, thank God that his party is so grateful to the action of IEA to the point that NPP will accept such gratitude if offered again.

This statement from a party leader illustrates the point that the NPP is aware of this major and key deficiency and knows very well that it does not have a credible candidate to be elected president. I hereby quote: "... Responding to the claim on the Dwaso Nsem show, Communications Director of the NPP, Nana Akomea said the decision to provide some elevation for his candidate was made by the producers of the programme to make filming the event easier....“If it is offered again we will accept it.”

Does this mean that a line item should be included in the national budget to provide height enhancers (for instance, enhanced shoes, customed fabricated platforms, etc..) for Nana in case he were elected? This is a serious questions because Nana, if "elected", (and this is unlikely) he will be representing our country abroad as well and are our host countries also going to be compelled to provide height boosters to the Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo during press conferences?

A study by Texas Tech University indicates that the electorate has a universal preference for tall leaders with a "physically formidable" stature because of "caveman politics". The study states that favouring tall people is a prehistoric trend, now applied to political leadership races. Early humans preferred their larger peers as leaders because they were thought to have better survival skills, it asserts."Some traits and instincts that may have been acquired through evolution continue to manifest themselves in modern life," said Gregg R Murray, political science professor and co-author of the report. We believe similar traits exist in politics. Even in the US, statistically the numbers indicate that when two major parties compete, 53 percent of the time the taller candidate wins. So, the odds are slightly better than a coin flip. Nana just cannot lead because he does not have the character and the traits to become a leader of a nation, Ghana.

Instead of attacking Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay and Alhaji Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako for what they have not done, maybe it would be better for him to have a little talk with Paul Afoko whilst he is taking a short break, to change his leadership style and respect the party structures and the elders who have come before him, since it would yield a lot more dividends for him personally and the NPP party.
Any other thing, it is quite clear the checks and balances in the party would work to bring him or any other person to order, as he can see. Discipline and focus is the name of the game here and it is that simple.

its obvious arthur k. is one of the few who would have wished alan k. was the flagbearer. so since things did not go their way, he had to join forces with afoko, agyepong, baah acheamfour and the likes to disorganise the party till nana addo losses the 2016 elections. go and ask kennedy agyepong and his colleagues, they will tell you the worse decision delegates of npp made in the history of the party, was to have voted afoko and agyepong as executives of npp. so please dr. stop making the ugly noise. i would have wished that the hierachy of the party takes a decision to organise an extra-ordinary congress to resolve this matter one touch. that way we will know which executives are 'stupid'
