Where is your sense of shame? Do you have to wait to be asked to step aside or kicked out before you know you have become a distraction for the party? What a bunch of cow dung coming from "Wrecking" Brobbey? For Afoko to keep his chairmanship whilst that brouhaha is still winding its way through the court system is what will actually hand victory to the NDC. Gregory Afoko killed for his brother, not for himself, hence Paul Afoko should have the sense of decency to step aside. That is what rational people do.

The NPP Constitution and its basic rules and regulations were in place and binding on all its members before some were elected to executive positions. Therefore, being an elected executive member doesn't mean that you can't be disciplined according to the party's basic laws.
For example, the president of Ghana is subject to the basic laws of Ghana, and if he flouted them, he could be impeached and removed from office even though he was elected by some Ghanaians.
Mr. Afoko was said to have been invited many times to defend himself from the serious allegations leveled against him. But he failed to do so and the party disciplinary rules have been applied against him. This is what I consider as Democracy and the rule of law, and shows that nobody is above the law in the NPP party.

If Mr. Blay think they are doing Nana Addo any good, they might be dreaming. It would have been even difficult to oust the NDC if they were united; not to talk of now that there is going to be a split. I can assure Ghanaians, this is something I had been predicting - like what Kennedy Agyepong said, "If not Nana Addo, then, nobody" this is the time. I was expecting a split right after the elections when Nana has failed to; but it is going to happen earlier that predicted. Look for a New Party before the 2016 elections.

Mac Manu was the national Chairman in 2008 and supported nana but he lost. Jake was around in 2012 supported nana to the dearth but Nana lost. how could anybody think that Afoko's dislike for Nana will cost Npp in 2016. we need to realize that nana is the problem in npp that must be tackled. its a shame that we cant do things with finesse anymore in npp.

Even an elected President or Prime Minister can be Impeached if he does something contrary to the constitution. If he has any sense at all he should have resigned honorably. Having said that leaders in Africa no know shame hence they will not resign even if it means being killed. If this was in a civilized world he would have resigned or stepped. It is only in Ghana and African politics where the chairman and secretary of a political party is more powerful than the President or Presidential candidate. So Mr. Tarzan, Afoko can be suspended. You were suspended for acting foolishly and you did not call it a coup d'état. Grow up and be wise.

Much as it is unfortunate it had to come to this, the overriding concern based on what has transpired so far is, was it justified? Did it enjoy widespread support and how does NPP deal with the fallout from such a decision, in a society and a democracy where the political terrain and dynamics is in now way determined by the soundness of the arguments for or against a decision premised on the rule of law, but mostly predicated on emotionalism and propaganda.
That is the challenge NPP would need to overcome in the lead up to the 2016 elections, and the resources that would have to be deployed to deal with the blow back from such a decision, because make no mistake, the NDC party which has no coherent message and policy agenda, will ride this all the way to the wire in the 2016 elections, regardless of the appropriateness of this decision by the NPP, and that is the problem. This raises the specter of whether the doctrine of neutralization and containment would have been most appropriate in this instance.
What it does though is, it puts the NPP party in a position where they must be armed with a lot of scandalous, sleazy and slimy portfolio of indiscretions on every front by the Mahama-led NDC gov't to be frontloaded into the conversation to situate the issues concerning the direction of this country within the mainstream, and resonates and trumps this spat, either than that, this can be damaging to the chances of the NPP party in the 2016 elections, more so when there is a split for or against this decision and does not enjoy widespread support in the party, most especially, so close to a major, difficult, cliff-hanger election which favours the NPP party.
I guess the results of the 2016 elections would settle the fallout from this kerfuffle.
