They are trying to garther whatever money they can to try buying votes and more so try rigging. Ghanaians are very awake and will not be swayed any longer by propaganda. No wonder you've abolished that tag and hiding behind a so called "Communications ..." We shall remind ourselves of this stubborn wickedness in 2016. Insensitive crooks in higher places.

I live in Japan. I use 10 light bulbs, electric heater and iron, Micro wave, fridge, deep freezer etc. The highest electricity bill I've paid was 5000 yen. This is 0.05% of my monthly salary. Or about 1/3 of my daily wage.

We truly pay high for what other industrialized nations that COULD do things regard as life"s essentials. These life's essential is what we in Africa HIGHLY regard as LUXURIES.
For example we in Ghana use two days pay to pay for a bottle of beer - a working man's drink- for the same beer a low-working people in advanced nations might use 1/4 of their hourly of eight hours or more a day pay for.
The difference is the MASTERY of the power of technology.
We make beer in Ghana but HAVE NOT mastered the manufacture of any component of the machinery that makes the manufacturing so therefore IF any broken down part has to be imported and delivered by UPS at a cost far higher than if it's locally manufactured with Cheap electricity at a local factory, that cost is factored in the price for the consumer even though the consumers are NOT making enough money.
And the reason we give to this inappropriate behavior is we all have come to regard beer as LUXURY instead of poor working people's drink. And we have used that poor judgment to TAG everything from TELEPHONE, WATER from the tap for WCs to Electricity simply because we BELIEVED they're the domain of "white civilization" therefore, anything "whites introduced" to us, HAS TO BE EXPENSIVE!!, and those few people who can steal and lie to maintain it are regarded as the upper class so they'd do anything to let the situation remained like that to prove how "SPECIAL" THEY ARE from the "poor". ( That's the psychological war fare Europeans had implanted in our minds of both educated and not so educated)
So cheap electricity and mastering of technology by Africans - (and NOT ARABS OR WHITES as they want 700%profit to repatriate to their countries ) - is our key to truly liberate us from slavery from our own governments.

I concur with your submission.Even common street lights are luxuries and therefore do not emit light at night.A country that cannot light up its streets at night is not a serious place to do business.

2. "I am not arrogant"
Just a week or so after making these statements Nana Addo is in Amsterdam threatening fire and brimstone if the international community does not do something about the voters register. So how long was he willing to give the EC chair? One week? For me the war he is predicting is already here with us. It has started in his own party with the murder of a party chairman, and the declaration of certain officers as 'persona non grata' in Upper East region. What is Nana Addo waiting for? He should call for UN peacekeeping deployment in the NPP.

In Africa, we choose to play stupid with our presumed freedoms ushered in by those who pretend to know and understand democratic principles, best practices and procedures of democratic governance but are at best clueless. For over the last 20 years developed nations in the northern hemisphere where the sun's energy comes half a day and approximately half a year, governments and people started on a quest for solar and wind turbines to supplement energy from coal, gas and nuclear sources. What have we done in Africa where the sun has burnt our skins to a crisp? Additionally every high school level educated student in Africa knows from basic science that water levels are depleted by the sun and without adequate rain fall water levels do stay low. Why then do we choose to rely on hydroelectric power when we have abundant solar energy source?
It is not governments but the folly of even the best and brightest our midst along with those who make tons of money acting and or entertaining us for a living. These are some of the folks who do not spend their money to implement energy saving measures but would rather lead a bunch of men with no leadership skills and or ideas and foresight. We pay more because we choose to stay as far away from things that work and would make sense.

So what can we do to improve our present energy situation, and also to reduce high cost of energy to improve manufacturing in order to stop the dumping of China imports.
