The question we need to ask ourselves is did Avram refuse to invite any local player that Maxwell Konasu, the assistant coach, recommended?.Maxwell watches the local league and he selects the best for the local black stars but he, Naxwell, knows that the qualities for these local players are only good for only the local black star and not that of the real Black star .So do we want to say Maxwell does not communicate with Avram? What is Maxwell telling Avram is what we need to find out rather than blaming Avram. Coach Nana sarpong talks unnecessarily all the time. What did he achieve when he was coaching a local team? Granted the local league is substandard, are you saying that the coach cannot find at least one local player deserving of a call-up to the national team for a friendly match? I should think most of the current Black star players in Europe had their start from the same league you're deriding. It is you who has a warped mentally and not Welbeck Appiah. Appiah is right to question the coach's commitment to the local players. Given the poor state of the local infrastructure, compared to Europe, it takes a whole lot of hard work to follow and scout the local players.

Kojo is responding to an accusation against the coach regarding his method of staying abroad to monitor the foreign-based players, as opposed to staying in Ghana to monitor and unearth talent for international game. But, I thought that is the job for Konadu who manages the local players and makes recommendations to Grant.
The current state of international soccer is not germane to Ghana alone. It was happening all over Africa, and that is why they created CHAN in the first place. If we have 99% of our players overseas, why would the coach spend his time monitoring local players, when there is a local assistant coach plus the whole of the technical team doing that? Who is going to monitor the foreign-based players who currently made up the bulk of our national playing body? Is it going to be Konadu or Yakubu?
It is rather ironic for one of the real lazy persons, who were actually responsible for creating this situation in the first place to call the coach lazy for doing his work. As the chair for 10 years on this shambolic league, he is not in a position to call the coach “lazy.”
