Every body wants to make money with the school. Ghana universities don't care if their pupils are job ready when they graduate, as long as their students can pay their school tuition.

Sometimes I marvel at the level of ignorance of our so-called elite. I wonder which industries Ghana currently has in order that about 50,000 students can go there for INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT in the course of their training at our technical universities. Kwame Nkrumah set up well over 150 industries but the counter revolutionaries who overthrew him saw to the destruction of most of these industries on the advice of their western slave-masters. Moa Zedong led the Chinese to set up similar state owned industries and they have grown them up such that they have leveraged on these industries today to develop technical education. Has Dr. Effah lost sight of these facts when he was comparing Ghana to India and China? I wonder why our so-called distinguished elite lack depth in their analysis yet we hail them and applaud them all the same.
We are essentially a neocolony of the West under which arrangement we merely export raw material to western industries after which we turn round to buy almost every industrial product we need.
I am afraid this technical university concept as well as its concomitant industrial attachment, will not amount to anything feasible unless we fundamentally change the nature of our economy from an agrarian economy to an industrial economy.
