Are any smart leaders left in Ghana? It is long overdue to have a development plan. But why a 40 year plan? 40 years is a lifetime to achieve something. So where will the people who make decisions now be when time comes to judge their actions after 40 years? Can our empty headed leaders not see the disastrous path this will put Ghana on? To me, 10 years is too aggressive and 20 years is too slow too. Something like 16 years plan broken up into 8 years of phase 1 and another 8 years of phase 2 make sense.

The 40 year plan is a policy framework which is impregnated with development blueprint that will be rolled out in phases. It also dictates the direction of our developmental project so that we don't do things haphazardly.

Good response to someone who has very little knowledge on the future direction of our country.

Go back and read what Hostage said. Then think about how confusing and empty that is. The guy is just not saying anything that make sense except making a salad of words. Yes the response souunds beautiful, like a poem almost, but confusing if you think about it critically. The buttomline is that 40years is too long and gives room for our leaders to make reckless decisions, as we are witnessing already, because they won't be around at the end 40years. What future direction of Ghana am I not aware of? Are you referring to the mountain of debts this government is piling up? God, you are gullible Marcus.

I read somewhere that Ghana will be the first country on Earth to have a 40-year development plan! I googled on Internet and no other country has had a 40-year D-Plan. This is insane!

It seems to me too heavy and unrealistic.
