  1. 76,000 Togolese have been identied on the registor.
  2. Under age have been found on the register.
  3. The current register is found to bloated.
  For a credible 2016 elections to be peaceful a new voters register is a must. Also a new voters register does not favor any paticular party.

And they cunningly add that “If this and other allegations are found to be true, it will be necessary to have a new voters register to enable people to have confidence in the electoral process,” Why don’t these guys wait for the fact to be established that the register is in fact bloated as claimed.
  Before EC can established that the allegations are true, they would have known the names that are not suppose to be on the register. Why don’t the EC just remove those names instead of going through the process of creating a new register that may end up having same problem. Common sense.

May God forgive me if my tongue has slipped unaware. This electoral commission chairman was with Dr. Afari Gyan for three years, understudying him. She was put there by the NDC. They've managed to put her there to do their bit for them. I was expecting THE CATHOLIC BISHOPS CONFERENCE input for the appointment of the EC Boss, the same as the CHRISTIAN COUNCIL, CHIEF IMAM, OPINION LEADERS IN SOCIETY. Ghanaians didn't hear from you. The campaign for this electoral reform should have started by these opinion leaders. But they waited for a political party to start the agitation for new VOTER REGISTER before we are now hearing them. Pleas, if my little submission has hurt my humble men of God, may God forgive.   Should the question not be: HOW WILL A NEW REGISTER ELIMINATE MULTIPLE REGISTRATION?
  
  Those advocating for a new register owe it to all Ghanaians to outline, explain, articulate how compiling a new register will eliminate the incidence of multiple registration?
  
  It is wrong for them to keep convincing the public of a need for a new register without spelling out how a new register will eliminate multiple registration. We need to hear them spell out how this new register should be compiled and who will be responsible for compiling this register?
  
  I am not convinced by the argument for a new register for the following reasons:
  1. There is no base to compare either the existing register or a new one to acertain the accuracy of the numbers registered;
  2. Compiling a new register using the processes adopted in the past is a waste of resources and opens the new register for further manipulation.
  
  The best option is the clean the existing register rigorously. The EC should appoint a body comprising the Police, recognised independent society representatives and representatives of all the political parties. The objective should expose every multiple entry, investigate if it is just an error or a deliberate act. If its a deliberate, who ever is caught should be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to those who will want to indulge in such crimes in the future.

  Why do we always allow confusion and trouble to be in our midst? Why do we always allow the devil to succeed in our midst?
  In the United States of America a new voters register is always made for every presidential election. One cannot vote in the next presidential election in the US, if he/ she do not register for it, though I registered and votered in the last presidential elections. Why can't we follow the same?
  
  I always blame the British for handing over power to Kwame Nkrumah and his cohorts to rule Ghana without the adequate training.
  
  Governing a country is not like the chieftancy in our villages. Ruling a country required adequate training for several years. The British shouldn't have handed over power to the Africans, until there should have been an adequate training for Ghanaians in governance and in country administration for over hundred years.
  
  All the "noise" we continue to make about ruling fairly is a lie. No African leader has ever ruled genuinely. Not even Mandala. The reason is that we do not know how to rule and administer justice to our people.
  
  I wish the British could take over Ghana again and teach us how to rule and administer justice to ourselves for some hundred years, handing over power to us. Corrupt leadership and insensitivity in our leaders is ruining us.

  Serwaa, you're perfectly right. It's a hight time Ghana know that we definitely need credible register for 2016. It is not about NDC or NPP. We're all one.

  This is not about NDC or NPP.
  We need proper governance but unfortunately, we can never get it from our people.

The continent is endowed with the best of everything on this earth yet we have turned ourselves miserable beggars.
  As Bob Nester Marley put it " In abundance of water the fool is thirsty".....
  As for the politicians let's leave them alone because they are all the same and the so called leaders of institutions and learned men and women are the curse of the state in which we find ourselves.
  Excuse me to say Africans we are a funny race. We sit down for everything to be prescribed by the western world (WHITES) for us to follow and even when guidelines are provided we tend to go astray ......aren't ridiculous?
  Africans must adopt our own kind of Democracy. Look at Libya today. During Gaddafi's reign he was lambasted for being a dictator. His people wanted freedom of speech and democracy and look at their situation as at now.
  There must be a rmassive evolution in Ghana so that we can eradicate the greed and self centered individuals and corrupt in the society. Most of the developed countries have had their share of the revolution. Americans revolted and are still enslaving some of us by prescribing the way our beloved country should be run.
  We really need to wise up else we shall continue to sink to the gutters and will punish us for not using our brain wisely

  The EC boss is too young to be able to take decision. She should let us know if its TRUE that there are scanned pictures in the electoral register. She should speak on that issue.
