  KNUST failed to rusticate and report to the police a female student who beat up her roommate; the lecturers have been bought. It has been said that many lecturers lack teaching methodologies. What should be the minimum requirement in recruiting lecturers into a tertiary institution? Is it a masters degree or a PhD with a course in education??
  
  Professors in tertiary institutions must read GES directives. There are many important and useful GES directives which would help them.
  
  GES banned all forms of corporal punishment in Educational institutions but there are reports that some tertiary institutions are still carrying out this practice. Asking students to kneel down and so on.
  
  Lecturers in tertiary institutions must recognize the fact that students in these institution are adults.

  proff.you are right by saying that headteachers should be empowered to discipline recalcitrant teachers by the help of district directors but the issue of tribalism,bribing and corruption at the various levels would not let headteachers work freely. it will surprise you to hear that some schools are understaffed at the school level but with the required staff at the office,other teachers are without the requisite qualifications to teach but they are in the classrooms and cannot deliver. government will always spend money to clean or clear out people with fake certificates from the classrooms which turn up being money making venture to most Auditors. Ghana can only have a clean and reliable audit if expects from a non governmental organization or foreigners are employed to audit things of great importance in G.E.S.go into the classrooms and check most teachers cannot speak english but when headteachers are given the power to fire such teachers it will help the pupils get qualified teachers .
