Having said that, I will however give Kuffuo administration 8 out of 10 for performance leading Ghana from the previous Rawlings leadership in contrast to Kuffuo administration established for Ghana.
Ghana under Kuffuo leadership gained World recognition. IMF and the World Bank recognized Ghana was on the right track. International Banks and businesses trotted into Ghana for the first time since Independence.
Corruption, which is cancer in Ghana society aside, Kuffuo did well and put Ghana on wards to economical stability. Dollar rate was stabilized for the last 6 years of Kuffuor leadership. That meant a lot for a country that depends on 90% importation of consumer goods.
Then came NDC Atta Mills and " bobooo" NDC Mahama. All the economical rail-roads and leads has been derailed down south. Dollar rate has been a nightmare for businesses, corruption is at the highest peak in the history of Ghana.
Any one in his economical right mind should know Ghana is in serious trouble under any NDC leadership. Facts of economical track history speaks volume.

Both NDC and NPP have ruined Ghana - equally! One is not better than the other. The K4 administration's corruption was in your face while NDC's corruption is much camouflaged. The K4 administration's driving of Ghana Airways into bankruptcy and looting of its assets is unforgivable. They also "arranged" a bad deal for Ghana's oil, not to mention the telecommunications deal with Vodafone etc,etc. It's really of no use comparing the two parties when in power. No difference whatsoever. All crooks and liars.

He failed to address the fundamental problems facing our country eg proviso of water and electricity. Instead, he borrowed money to put up a grandiose Presidential palace complex, which would bring us no economic benefit whatsoever.

He signed away our oil and gas wealth, sold Ghana Telecom to Vodafone for less than market price, failed to rehabilitate our railways, and squandered borrowed money on Ghana@50.

He then tried to sign off with a fantastic ex-gratia award.

His was certainly a missed opportunity.

All that money he spent on the Young Pioneers , the Builders Brigade , etc could have been used to mount a massive civil education on patriotism and discipline love for the country , anticorruption campaigns etc as was done in Singapore . All the parastatal bodies he formed were just there to boost his ego and not of any benefit to the country. He failed to check the gradual emergence of corruption in the parastatals. Before long these parastatals started crumbling under nis nose. The Black Star Line , The GIHOC group of companies , Ghana Airways were all riddled with corruption - party stewarts used them as their private businesses .Not a single one of them was running at a profit to the day he was deposed. They became a liability. Successive governments did not help either .

Young pioneer to encourage national pride, which some people might call it nationalism in socialist or communist distaste in respect of those who hate. Sabotages from internal and external cause some of his failures, yet the plan no f action was unpresidented.
Today we still enjoy his handiworks and his achievements are stil the backbone of the nation, which present administrations are finding it hard to manage and maintain. It is of abysmal tantamount to the current failures and unfortunate outcomes on him, after his absence in life for living in Ghana. What I can surely says is that, homosexuality was unheard of in his days in Ghana, and such would be chase around by children as strangers period. You can't find that in any books in Ghana I knew.

I nearly forgot that his memoirs where destroyed, preventing us to learn thoroughly about his mindsets and projections. We can only deduce from what we saw, experienced and enjoying from him. We needed all these documentations to sort out certain things instead of speculations. His lust for power drove him into gear of wanton dissipation of Ghana's wealth.Kufuor on the other hand came to inherit a minus economy but look at the various infrastructural developments he did. Ghanaians are still enjoying the social interventions he introduced into the country. NDC 3 and NDC 4, Mills and Mahama have added zero of such interventions but have rather mismanaged what they inherited. As for Jato's 19 years rule, the least said about it the better. Are you saying Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers reduced their wares to run at a loss and dissipate their capitals for love of Ghana? How patriotic!! They reduced their wares as a result of the prudent economic measures the Kufuor administration put in place notably low interest rate and the cedi's strength against major currencies. Banks gave loans without collateral remember? All these he hid in just eight years not nineteen. What more could a President do? After all these, our debt rose from 3Billion USD to just 5Billion USD when he handed over in 2009. As I write this piece, withe approval of this 1.5Billion USD Euro Bond, our national debt has shot up from 5 Billion to 29 Billion and what have they to show for the 24 Billion difference plus oil money? Circle inter-change? I hear it was a grant. A time will come when they will claim vain glory on what Kufuor did because they have changed names. Jubilee House to Flag Staff House, Ohene Djan Stadium to Accra Stadium, NYEP to GYEEDA etc.

If such a person have said these I will not be worried but not this man who thought of Nkrumah and its ideology was the best thing to ever happen to this country. Nkrumah was entrusted with huge resources to the tune of 500 million pounds and most of his industries lasted collapsing before he was eventually overthrown. Ghana did not have debt as of the time. During kuffour"s time he took over the country which was a highly indebted poor country to a middle income country which eluded Nkrumah because Nkrumah was bequeathed with funds but kuffour did not have any. Even fuel stock cold hardly last for two weeks. And the list goes on and on. The Taylor commission implicated your God Nkrumah which you always hide from the public and no commission has implicated kufour so please let sleeping dogs lie

"Kuffour should have done better"this Akosa says.What has he said or will say about his mentor Kwame Nkrumah who after inheriting healthy finances from colonial masters and managed to bankrupt our nation during his reign of terror and non beneficial to Ghana ambitions.
Kuffour took over power with the country on it's kneels and yet was able to bring Ghana to middle income status.
I wonder why Akosa and all who foolishly keep heeping praises on Nkrumah forgetting or ignoring the simple fact that the conditions and situations during his time were different.The population of the country was only six/seven million,cost of everything was low.
It's so annoying that all those so obsessed with Nkrumah don't for once think what he had at his disposal and how and what he did with it in terms of development.
I just hope these people spare us this stupid comparison and admit that Ghana's current woes and predicaments are all down to Nkrumah's mismanagement of the nation's resources.So Akosa pay attention to that.

What Ghanaians know is under Ex-President Kufuor, Ghana which had become HIPC as a result of mismanagement and incompetence of NDC 1, moved Ghana from that HIPC state to a lower middle income economy within a matter of just 8 years, with the discovery of oil and gas in commercial quantities.
Ghana as we speak has gone HIPC again, not once but twice all under the NDC party and gov't and that difference is very, very significant.

He brought about health scheme which is unheard of in a 3rd country and Ghanians poo-poo on it. It was before the OBAMA care.He brought about free enterprise and encourage Banks to offer loans for small businesses. I think Kuffour did his best despite "Adam",if any. Is Prof Akosa aware that, the 11 percent Economic growth registered by late Atta Mill's NDC gov't was actually an "Economic Inheritance" from Kuffour's NPP admin as a result of Prudent Economic and Financial Management?.That means if any other Political Party had won the Election at the time,the Economic indicators would have been the same,without any doubt. He also promised to do proper decentralization but when he came he wanted to enjoy the enormous presidential powers granted him by the 1992 constitution and did same as Rawlings ie continued with DCE appointment instead of election
