Obed Asamoah has always had his hands stained in land disputes. He chopped the monetary compensation meant for those villagers displaced as a result of the construction of the Akosombo dam. It is on record.

The family should go for their land since from the responses of Obed Yao and Martin Amidu, there is no record of the land having been divested and therefore the presence of Volta Investment Company on the said land is unlawful and illegal.
Any action taken by the said investment company on the said land would necessitate sanctions including fines or imprisonment or the death penalty or all of the above.

THEY ADVISE AND HELP ILLEGITIMATE CHARACTERS TO AQUIRE LANDS THAT DO NOT BELONG TO THEM. THEY HELP THEM IN DRAFTING AND PLOTING THE DOCUMENTS. SO LET'S THE INVESTIGATION BEGIN. AFTER ALL WE CAN HEAR BOTH OBED AND AMIDU CLEARLY DISTANTING THEMSELVES FROM OWNERSHIP. YES, I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU. ANAS SHOULD GO TO LANDS AND LANDS COMMISSION.

Amidu's answer is far from convincing because he knows the truth will not take him anywhere. He's throwing this back at the President to investigate and do the right thing.

If both Obed and Amidu say they had nothing to do with this divestiture and the Company purported to own the Land now, then the onus of explanation falls on the former President, J. J. Rawlings, who is said to have reserved the right to append his signature for approval of all divestitures.
That does not necessarily mean, though, that J. J. might have know much about that Land or could have something to do with its current ownership. Nevertheless, if J. J. comes out to deny anything to do with the said divestiture, then we would be narrowing in on who might have dubiously divested the piece of Land. We have long underestimated the involvement of immovable fixtures of Civil Servants in our various Institutions who are repository of knowledge to either initiate or guide all the vicious chicanery to dispose of State Assets illegally for part benefits.
Someone who knew by placing Obed's name on the property would dissuade all inquisitive inquirers from pursuing establishing its authentic owners and question the ownership might have done just that.
Heaven knows how many of our over 300 National Factories divested could have ended up with dubious owners like in this land case. Land acquired to the State, especially, has been one big item suffering such injudicious divestiture. We have to blame the various Heads of State and Attorney-Generals, like Akufo-Addo, for such insensitive deprivation of the natural owners of their assets.
When Akufo-Addo was confronted with his role in divesting Lands in Accra, his only defense was that he did not collect any such Properties for himself. Well, that is not enough to exonerate him. As an Attorney-General, he was responsible for protecting our Assets, and should have done all that was required of his position to protect or properly disposed of those Assets. If he just sat unconcerned to allow his cronies and others dispose of such State Assets at will and to their convenience and at the detriment of the State or the real original owners, he surely failed the Nation in that capacity. And that alone should have disqualified him from daring to seek the Nation's Presidency.
I would love to see all divested State Assets revisited to assess how fairly they were divested. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings' Nsawam Cannery acquisition was the only case that seemed to have gotten wide publicity and attracted suspicion, and even official review, thus far.
But how about all the others? From the Bogoso Glass Factory and Gold Mines to the Bolga Meat Factory; from the Asutware and Komenda Sugar Factories (that might have been left to rot) to the Kumasi Shoe and Jute Factories; from the Black Star Line to Ghana Airways, etc.
How could we be so much docile for so long to be used and reused and wasted that much?
I challenge our Judiciary to be part of a resumed interest in establishing the propriety in divesting and assigning exploitation rights of our National Assets to foreign entities.
Just as Justice Apau could single-handedly expose the rot in the long existing scheme to loot our coffers via Judgment Debts, so do I believe our revived Judiciary could redeem itself by undertaking such a colossal task to restore our Nation's wealth and progress and dignity.
And if anyone gets in the way, no matter what the entity's social or political ranking in the Nation, he or she or it must be exposed as such and quickly and drastically dealt with according to the Law.
Let the Judicial Axe grind! Let the Legal 'guillotine' strike! Let the chips fall where they might, in our last hopeful effort to salvage what is left of our Nationhood!!
Long Live Ghana!!!
