Unfortunately, the youth is taking a cue from the behaviour of NDC youth. The youth have come to accept that violence begets violence and they cannot count on the police so they need to protect themselves.

The symbol of radicalization in Ghana is alive and revered by many stupid Ghanaians. He is no other than JJ Rawlings, the murderer, the conman. For nearly 20 years he killed and suppressed many, stole from the state and stymied development. His disruptive legacy is upheld by NDC politicians. Why is it a problem all of a sudden? Scared an anti-JJ is coming?

Create more jobs for the youth and even if the guns arrive in Ghana through the porous borders the youth will be busy working and earning income for themselves, and they won't have time for the guns. Government should engage the youth with good-paying jobs. That's the only solution to the youth radicalization.

I am surprised that the Ghana Armed Forces are reported to have joined these NGOs to portray such ignorance. I can understand the ignorance of civilians on security issues but I should be amazed if our military high command associated itself with such ignorance. Who says that the advanced countries do not know the dangers associated with maintaining nuclear facilities in their countries? In any case, if there are nuclear accidents in those countries, is it Africans who will be the immediate victims of such accidents? Mind you, none of these nuclear facilities is located in Africa. So why cry or weep more than the bereaved?
I am no security expert but the little I know about the national security of a country is that once a country has developed nuclear warfare capability, then that country immediately becomes a safe haven on earth as far as the threat of external aggression is concerned. The reason is rather simple: no country wants to be attacked by nuclear weapons so even the most imperialistic state would do everything to avoid war with a nuclear-warfare-capable state. War between two nuclear states will certainly result in what is known as MAD = Mutuality Assured Destruction. Neither of them will emerge as the winner. Because of this, the nuclear states will assure each other's security at all cost. This is known as MAS = Mutually Assured Security. It thus becomes easy to understand why the funny noises being made in Ghana about the abolition of nuclear weapons will be viewed with contempt by the security experts in the advanced countries.
Does anyone think that the threat of war between nations has disappeared? It is in this light that I was shocked that officers of Ghana's Armed Forces will associate themselves with such an infantile request to the advanced countries. It is almost ludicrous! I hope that it is a mistake by the news reporter and that Ghana's Army didn't actually portray itself as being so ignorant about the international security situation vis-a-vis a country's nuclear warfare capabilities.
Is it any wonder that all the permanent members of the UN Security Council with veto power are all nuclear-warfare-capable states? We are rather among the minnows on the international scene and worse of all, we don't look sharp with such comments!!!

Yeah, nuclear deterrence is indeed a security anchor. If you want peace, prepare for war. Anaaa?
History has taught us that in war, the sophistication of one's weapons of warfare is a serious game changer. I lie?
