DANIEL, I hold the same view with you. That service is no longer a service. They are Lords, Lords of all that they survey.
The only way left to the citizens who have put these servants in place to serve them but have now turned out to be masters and terrorists is to scrap that body altogether and build a better, reformed body imbued with the right code of conduct to better serve the citizenry.
The majority of the policemen we have today are not fit to be in uniform in the first place. Gone are the days when background checks were made on even recruits in training and when any adverse findings were found about their character, they were immediately expelled from the training school. What we are seeing today when it comes to recruitment is political patronage hence most, I say most, of the policemen we see in uniform today are nothing but rogues in uniform doing the bidding of their patrons and not caring a hoot about the good of the citizen as should be the case with Policemen in all civilized societies.
Our police service is rotten to the core and the few fine gentlemen and officers among them have become helpless unable to correct the rogues among them for fear of their political patrons.

When a new government is put in place I know the recruitment will be done according to background checks to weed out the bad ones and foreigners being put in our security services. I know and believe there will be a time Ghana will go back to practice the mode of recruitment where police were loyal to the state but not anybody at all like Asiedu Nketia and Koku Anyidoho giving them instruction to beat true and authentic Ghanaians for the police high command to follow just because Rose Atinga Bio has ndc T-shirt under her uniform.

In any case I do not fault her for belonging to a party as a citizen, but I care about how she throws caution to the wind about her partisanship. Sometimes, I wonder if she thinks that would win her the position of IGP? If that is her thinking, then I am sorry for her because as the saying goes, "party goes,party comes " but she has truly demonstrated where she belongs unbecoming of a professional who should be neutral.

I would like to know how many DCOP ACOP &COP we have in the police service. Back in the day before Rawlings we had max 3 COP, maybe 4 COP & 6 ACOP, what has changed, so we have 16 DCOPs and god knows how many COPs & ACOPs!! WE MAY BE DOOMED
