Why for test for only products going to the EU ? Ghanaians also deserve so protection. How health also matter. These rules must be applied across board. We will then be ready at all times for the EU etc

My sentiments exactly. Is a Ghanaian life worth less than the life of an EU citizen?

These producers/traders/exporters don't give a damn about anyone's life, wherever in the world they might be. Poisoning people costs nothing in Ghana. All they care about is profit.

With the levels of interception if Ghana were a well managed country Mrs Boamah would long have been sacked when she only attends conferences for Per Diem whilst the levels of interceptions continues to increase. If you visit the office the place is dead like a cemetery and with no direction exporters just do what they like only to find out at the EU Ports that things in that part of the world is based on law and not just what the individual likes to do.
If the EU says your pineapples should not have more than 1 milligram of a toxin that is what the border agencies would consider before they let your pineapple in. If the level is 1.0004 they would seize and destroy your products. Worse they would send the bill to you for the work they had to do to destroy your product. Ghana is not a serious country!

As a patriot, reading your comment saddens me. It would seem that the administration of our country is rotten in every single area. What hope for Ghana?

The farmer is expected to work the land, plant and tender the crop in the face of all the vagaries of the weather and then pay and bribe a testing officer in an air conditioned office to tell him/her that the crops cannot be exported.
This is primitive and nonsensical!
In more civilized economies, all the testing officers will go to the field and help the farmer produce exportable crops.
Looking at the intensity of all the testing infrastructure, one can only conclude that it is more profitable to test than to farm.

The World is fast becoming a global village and what is good for the genda is also good for the goose. Testing goods or products for sale in the local and international market is part of the production chain. Ghanaian producers must provide for that in their cost of production. Testing Oficers and Certificated Institutes for standards or quality must be responsible and accountable.
