Horse whips are used by the Azorka Boys, a terror group of the Ndc. These were in use at Talensi recently by the Ndc group. Why should horse whips be used By Ghana Police on Ghanains whose only intention was to hand in a request letter to a State Institution. A couple of months ago, residents of Agbogbloshie went on mass demonstration in Accra. They threw stones and other missiles at the police. They vandalized Parliament House in the process. Some policemen sustained injuries as a result of the mass action. Yet there was no record of one single person among the demonstrators who was brutalized by the Police. COP Kudalor will do well to explain the vast difference of the police response in these two occurrences. When did the Ghana Police take the decision to use their newly acquired weapon, the horse whip, to deter demonstrators.

If you're talking about SELF-DEFENSE of Police, and justifying that barbaric Police brutality, then the civilian demonstrators reserve SAME right of SELF-DEFENSE as citizens.

The Police can apprehend a suspect/s and book them before the court of law for prosecution but definitely DO NOT have the RIGHT nor the authority to ASSAULT any suspect. President Mahama is aware of this FACT, that's why he's asked for INVESTIGATIONS on the occurrence. If you are ignorant about this LAW and FACT, the Police will use it against even yourself one day.

Ghanaians and our hypocrisy. Today it's David Asante and his men so you gloat. 'They disobeyed the law', u justify. How many times have we not jumped the red light, reversed onto the road, made a wrong u-turn, driven without seat belt or make phone calls while driving? Tell me about someone simply taking an unapproved route deserving to be brutalised like this. Today it's David for making a wrong turn. Tomorrow it may be me for driving without seat belt. The next day it may be you for not making enough room for a minister's motorcade. Forget their party colours, forget what they were fighting for, put yourself in their shoes as ordinary citizens who deserve to be treated with dignity even if you have erred. I'm not condoning lawlessness, I'm calling for a law enforcement system that treats it's citizens with respect and dignity even as it upholds the law. Brutal force was just not the way to go for this kind of offence. Shame to all who condone it, including the police leadership especially COP Kudalor who has patted them on the back.
