Seriously, how did they come up with this figure of 28 million? This is a country with zero good data and yet out of the blue we come up with a population figure to go dupe the world with. I don't even trust the census figures much less this pick a number game we are playing.

Where is the family planning programs that was initiated in the seventies, why are all these poor folks breeding like pigs, and the government seems less concern. Ghana is too small as far as resources are concern to cater for a large population, that's why people with foresight initiated the family planning program (FPG), to check overpopulation. The government must take a serious look at the situation, because it is not good for Ghana.

Who can with certainty state that Ghana,s population is 27.9million?.We are still using the old methods of estimation at a time when technology can help give accurate figures.It is time to discard this nonsense.

The Chief Statistician is obviously trying to support Assiedu Nketia's assertion that the projected 2.7% annual population growth ALSO TRANSLATES to 2.7% increase in the number of ELIGIBLE voters, thereby validating the current voters register. In reality, the 2.7% population increase is weighted heavily from the very young ages (0-18, and INELIGIBLE to vote), tapering drastically downward thereafter. The Chief Statistician should tell us the distribution of this 2.7% growth among the various statistically relevant age groups.

On what basis do you measure the population of the country?
I don't live in Ghana and yet I am being counted and it's not only me.It's the same with many people I know who are not living in the country.The figure is always questionable and that's why registration of birth and death must be mandatory.
Even before leaving ghana,I would be counted in my home of birth (Bantama)as well as my place of residence in Accra and I know I am not the only one.
The only way to get the correct population figure is by using the birth and death data.
