This is what I would say to all Gyan critics. As much as he is inconsistent, his goal against Algeria at AFCON 2015 gives him the right to be respected as Ghana's best striker. He did exactly what you are supposed to do when you are the "big time striker". He used his last energy to out run the defender and slot in an on target shot. Other than Assifuah, I do not see the other people you named being able to make a last gasp pressure shot in the run of play. Assifuah is the only one I see replacing him. So far Assifuah has not been given a real opportunity at the senior level. If someone can dethrone Gyan then fine but for now, we know he is critical.

If the coach takes one month leave, and failed to report at the end of the leave, why didn't the administrators call or email to find out why he is late. You allow him to stay away for three months. What sort of employer will permit that? Our administrators have no idea where he goes and what he does, because they do not have any programs lined up, neither do they have any reporting mechanism that will allow them to track his activities and performance. Our leaders are brainless.

The main problem is that we do not give enough respect to our own. As a result the local league has fallen off and the local coaches who could do the job are scared of the criticism they will get. The only solution is someone who is well connected to Ghana but grew up outside. People like Desailly are the kind of people we need as coaches.

In any case. this discussion is not about coaching in Europe. It is about the suitability or otherwise of an European (Jew) coach who was unfairly considered over and above a sitting local coach whose CV as a coach was at least ten times better than that of the European/Israeli coach.

The only reason that I can come to as to why the European/Israeli coach was imposed upon us was due to the lack of confidence in ourselves. This is a terrible mental condition that many centuries of slavery and colonialism has inflicted upon us. As a result, we hate ourselves, we look down on ourselves, we dont trust ourselves, we dont help ourselves, we have very little faith in ourselves and we even mimic all the negative attitudes that our white European oppressors harbor against us.

If it was a Ghanaian coach who was exhibiting the lack-lustre performance and senseless expensive travels that we all accept and recognize Grant for, that Ghanaian coach would have been booted out long ago.

This dangerous trait is resistant to the highest levels of education and public office-holders to the extent that even our politicians keep on running to the IMF to subscribe to the most ridiculous economic prescriptions which of curse, never work. Our politicians ignore our doctors and seek medical attention in European hospitals and not too long ago our President invited American fire 'experts' to come down all the way to Ghana to help us find the causes of fires in our markets when the most illiterate market-trader could have explained the causes of these fires for no fee.

This is how come Grant became the 'white' coach of the 'Black' Stars.

However, people like Abra-Appiah have no moral authority to comment on this issue when they sat there and allowed this unfortunate situation to happen. I will not commiserate with Abra-Appiah and his likes but I will offer my tacit support to all those who publicly questioned the GFA for unceremoniously sacking Kwasi Appiah and replacing him with a whiteman - a foreigner who is not familiar with the trends and status quo of the sport of football in Ghana.

Are you privy to the coach's contract? How do you know what is contained in the contract? Developing the local league & organizing seminars for local coaches were part of his contract.

He is also tasked to organize coaching workshops for the local coaches. fact is most of these club owners are more interested in selling players to foreign clubs rather develop the game in Ghana. Nothing Grant could about that. The development of the game in Ghana is the duty of the FA, club owners and team coaches and technical directors. This is where Abrah-Appiah after over 20 years at the helm of affairs has failed the nation. what the agent said is a direct indictment of Abrah-Appiah's performance that is why he took it personal. As a fan, I am more interested in the Black stars winning matches and qualifying for tournaments. The coach so far is doing what every Ghanaian wants, win games. If he has to do that with foreign-based players, so be it.
