This is the typical socialist way of thinking, putting band-aids on the problem rather than coming up with something that is sustainable. Of course, we know that programs like this also gives opportunities for corruption.

Just the govt's pre-election bribery. It achieves nothing for the progress of the nation, just creates an expectation of freebies & inhibits personal motivation. Pre-election bribery, PERIOD!

We do not need a Ministry for Gender and social protection, or a ministry of Power! What the hell is "Social protection". This is the job for Dept of Social Welfare under the ministry of Health.
Waste of tax payers money and foreign loans. Each month Ms Lithur gets $10,000.00 in salary and allowances. Money that should be used to pay teachers and doctors and create jobs for graduates. Mahama is more corrupt than Kuffour.
