It is good we are all looking at the various causes of the failure or non functioning of the state , we say its a failed state because it does not benefit the people in any way. The compromises made in the constitution totally erased any true obligation for public officials /civil servants to work for the welfare of the people . Rather they created privileged , untouchable , can do no wrong , non accountable groups that like vampires suck the people dry . We now have whole groups that are practically above the law . Laws are meant to oppress all those who are unlucky enough to have their tribe , ethnic group or relatives not affiliated to the ruling tribe or elite. We have developed a system of governance worse than than the Indian castes or monarchy of the middle ages as no development can ever succeed that doesn't tap all the potential of the whole nation. Whole groups based on ethnic backgrounds are excluded this was started by Achampong who appointed his Ashantis , continued by JJ who had a preference for Ewes and now Mahama who only trusts his relatives and northerners . In all fairness the we can not blame the ordinary northerners and ewes who have taken advantage of this mess did so because the bogus constitution allows it. This constitution encourages elitism ,nepotism, ethnocentrism , hegemony and a privileged corrupt class of civil servants . There is no partisan politics only tribal affiliations which facilitate enmity . There can never be national unity so we Akans opt to secede since we now have the numbers and population to create a sustainable state . In the late 40's and 50's the population of Ghana was around 5 million today just the Fanti speakers of the western and central regions are more than 5 million which is more than enough to create a new state , Africa can only unite , develop and be free when these imperialistic colonial borders are broken. We all know the political arena is polarized based on ethnic divides rather than political ideology and all sides have deeply dug their trenches and can not afford to loose which is a ripe situation for political violence which will lead to ethnic war . Any war started on this principle if it lasts longer than a month will automatically lead to the break down and secession of the various nations or tribes as the white man would classify. Let us not focus our energies on the hatrad of our enemies rather diligently prepare to create our own nation out of this mess. The blue print for creation of new nations and the obligations are in the Bible and a any nation ignoring this requirement given by God will suffer. God gives you a language and territory its up to you to fight with blood for freedom , long live the republic of Akan

Don't forget you started negotiation with the Government in November 204. If it was about monies in 2016 why do you go on strike while innocent citizens are losing their lives? Mr. Boss, you are finding face saving arguments but that does not help the problem. Certainly your services to society are indispensable but that does not warrant your asking for 205% in all over your basic salary. By the way what happens to your salary if Government is fork out 30% of basic salary for this, 20% for that, 50% of that, 40%of that etc. Now what is your basic salary for considering you will retire with salary scale at which you were on retirement. By the way you are to note that it is no only Medical Services that is the only department rendering invaluable services. There are others and if they all go on strike with demands that Government cannot meet, what will happen to the nation?

That doctor is crazy, very sick in his head, may be needs mental check up.
The government is not saying they want it in the budget of this year but saying government cannot afford their outrageous demands,it doesn't matter if that is for 2020 budget and it doesn't matter which government is in power,it is about Ghana's future.
He should get lost.
I think no government should run any hospital directly apart from the military and the police hospitals, just privatize or give them full autonomy to operate,at least those major hospitals in Accra,Kumasi and may be at least all the regional hospitals should be privatize to see if these doctors can get even 1/8 of what they are demanding from government.
We go into business to market profit so what profit is government making running all these hospitals, are they not losing and even borrowing money to pay the workers there, does it make economic sense to be borrowing money to run a business that is not bringing profit?
Please clear off running these hospitals, let the doctors be hired on case by case basis as private hospitals where many of them work do.
It is senseless to give a section of workers even a gallon of fuel let alone 100 gallons a month which they will retail to people or give to their girlfriends,we must be dumb to be doing something like that.

What does this economic saboteur take Ghanaians for? Fools or dimwits? If as he's alleged their demand for 'an improved or new conditions of service' are for next year, why had he and his henchmen declared a strike to force government's hand now? Will he be wiling to put in the public domain their current conditions of service or they have none? Why is this pen-armed robber continuously shifting the goals posts? If it is an attempt to court public sympathy, sorry, buffoon, you've miscalculated. Needless to point out that, the strike action would not hurt only members of their perceived antagonists and their families. Family members of doctors will suffer too. He should pray that none of his immediate family members somewhere in a cocoa growing village, whose toil enabled them to be trained would not fall sick or be bitten by a snake.

Negotiations could be back-dated,so it would be behind the minds of the two parties to take note of it and avoid that. What is it about being an educated elite in Ghana that takes away the sense of intellectual honesty and wisdom? GMA through their president think they can piss on our legs and tell us it's raining because we're bound to believe any lies from their kind. If the facts of their demands are not in doubt then what does it matter if GMA wants to extract a pound of flesh now or in next year's budget? If the greedy and morally bankrupt leadership of the GMA believe pushing the pain to next year does not affect the bottom line then I ask all of its officers to accept deferred payments from their patients who ask to pay their visitation or consultation fee at a later dates.
This illogical explanation from the GMA shows how the rich and affluent in Ghana get to normalize greed and immoral behavior on society yet punish similar acts by the poor in society. Unfortunately the NPP has seen no acts of treason or criminality visited on Ghana's poor they can deem too much for society to bear and thus actively support and instigate strikes to make Ghana ungovernable; lessons well versed in the history of the UP/UGCC.
Wake up you spineless government and let it be known here and now that strikes by government workers that negatively impact the health, safety and security of citizens will not be tolerated. Give GMA members an option. It is government institution like University of Ghana Medical School and others that confer unto each a degree or certification as well as the government of Ghana that confers on them the rights to practice medicine in Ghana and on Ghanaians; the privilege will be revoked and their names removed from any official records if they do not return to work while negotiations are ongoing.

If negotiations between GMA and Government are to be included in 2016 budget next year, has the Government refused to continue with the negotiations with GMA ? Which law gave legal authority to GMA to declare strike this year. What about 2016 when GMA demands are not met.We are now living in a law-less country.Every one is doing whatever he/she likes. There is no discipline. The Government cannot enforce discipline in the society.Where are we Ghanaians heading towards. The GMA should be band by the government because members of the GMA should never emback on strike. When people died while they are on strike they do not care to render an apology to the all the people of Ghana. The Doctors are very greedy people. They love money more than their profession. No wonder they have been running from one private hospitals to another just to meet up their extravagant spendings. Most of the senior doctors put up their personal private hospitals and they careless about their official jobs at the teaching hospitals. What type of humanbeings they are. This NPP & NDC madness among the GMA members should stop else we shall a situation in Ghana where all Ghanaian shall take arms against each order.

Based on this precedence, the government should enter into aa purchase of service agreement with the doctors. Once an agreement is reached on the hourly wage rate, the government can decide how many hours to buy and the doctors can decide what to do with their extra hours.
If this is properly designed and implemented, the government can save money and doctors will be happy as they can make more money in private practice.
Also, the government should revisit the division of labour between the various levels of medical personnel.
Things like wound dressing can attended to by active or retired nurses, so doctors can concentrate on disease diagnoses and treatment and surgery. Any purchase of service agreement between the government and the doctors should be performance based. The more efficient the doctor, the higher the pay rate.

The whole public in Ghana is misinformed about the doctors issue:if iT's not about Salary for 2015 and the government is ignorant about the coundition oftheir services , means ,the GMA is conceiving imformation to the government..i believe on the government negociator will never brief the president of Ghana with wrong information knowing the fact that by doing so put the president in jeopardy:on the contrary, the GMA who in my mind, conceiving the information or misinformed the public:..and part of demand requestiong from government 100gallons of petrol to the Sr doctors and 20gallons of petrol to the Jr doctors to my mind, this strike isn't about the government and the jr doctors..in infact, it is about Sr doctors who are demanding huge allowances 100gallons of petrol for the Sr and 20gallons for the Jr;and my question is why Sr doctors getting 100gallons of petrol a month and a jr doctors getting 20gallons..what is the sense and sensibility here.. I believe the SR doctors are behind the curtains and pushing the Jr doctors to act..Again:what the president of GMA is saying is that, their condition of service is a 'negociation'with the government then my question is ,if the whole issue is a "negociation",why do they strike while the negociation is ongoing?..it is not part of their salary but allowances then why do they threaten to resign?.. which means the requested allowances are more than their salary..,yes,because if you ask the government to give you free money, free clothing, petrol, free insurance(personal insurance) which to my mind it will be more that their basic salary and in addition to their basic salary; There was great analysis by one doctor who disagree with their demand was that, how will government generate money to pay for their working environment if The doctors demand are met;they should rather strike about their condition of the environment their working than to asking for the allowances which to my mind was a wisdomly contribution by this doctors..So,if the government is ignorant about what is going on likewise the president means there is conceive of information on part of GMA.

Two gunman have burst into a Brazilian radio studio and shot a presenter dead during his lunchtime show.
Gleydson Carvalho paid the price for his anti-corruption campaign on Radio Liberdade FM in Camocin, in north east Brazil.
The gunmen forced their way into the studio overpowering a receptionist and then forcing a sound engineer to cower underneath a table.
Mr Carvalho was shot three times in the head and twice in the chest.
He died en-route to hospital, while his killers made their escape on a motorbike.
"They came to the station's facility and said that they had to make an announcement,“ Herbert Silva, a local police chief, said of the killers.
He added that the the culprits have been identified.
"We're going to find them soon because they don't have water, money, food and they are in a region with a lot of sun, rocks - almost a desert."
Mr Carvalho was well known for his long-standing campaign against government corruption. According to one friend he would even receive threats while on the air.
But various news sources in Brazil said he discounted them.
