Ghana Airways Seeks God's Intervention

The Ghana Airways management has planned a special night of prayer to seek God’s intervention as it struggles to keep itself in business. Changes in management of the airline four times in less than three years has not helped in halting the dwindling fortunes of the airline.
The Board of Directors on Tuesday announced the appointment of Mr Philip Owusu, a Management Consultant, as the new Chief Executive of the Company. A statement issued in Accra said the appointment took effect from May 22.
The new management has decided to turn to God first as it also attempts to put the airline back on track. Friday evening’s special prayer session has the theme – “Christ Is The Answer” and according to an invitation letter signed by the Acting Head of Marketing, Doreen Owusu Fianko, it is being organized by the management, staff and the airline’s Christian fellowship.
The special night of prayer will be the new Chief Executive, Philip Owusu’s first public appearance since assuming office. Mr Owusu, who holds Graduate Degrees in Electrical Engineering as well as Finance, worked with the World Bank for 25 years in various capacities and locations.
Since returning home in 1999, he has worked as a consultant for several organisations including the Ministry of Finance. He acted as Managing Director of Ghana Telecom from November 2002 to January 2003.
