I was shocked when I got a whatsapp list of their demands. They must be mad, like the rest of them looters.
What's the Single Spine Salary scheme all about? Not to abolish all those outrageous allowances and fringe benefits? After bungling the implementation which involved converting cost of maid servants and garden boys into cash, instead of abolishing them outright, and thereby over-bloating the wage bill to a gargantuan level, they expect an annual exercise of doing same and even bringing back more such allowances.
And they have to the temerity to ask for even book allowance! I must find time to complete the third in the series of my piece on intellectual bankruptcy in Ghana.
Where in the civilised world do doctors get all such allowances?

To them the government should give in to any demand from workers without knowing that the money does not belong to the ruling party and the ruling party will not be in power forever.
I still don't get it that most of these NPP members who are complaining about hardship in the country are supporting these doctors telling the government to give in to these outrageous demands.
Are these people serious, why they are always supporting anybody or group of people who are bent on destroying the country where in the world the government gives free fuel to doctors, where in the world are doctors turn to gods giving them whatever they want, are idiots like this guy aware of importance of parliament, where in the world doctors are put above parliament?

The doctors goofed big time by demanding 80-100 gallons of oil per month as part of conditions of service. What they should have asked for is petrol coupons which will be applicable to work based. So let's assume a doctor is on his one month annual leave holiday in Canada with his family, the government should be giving him 100 gallons of oil whiles his car is parked home in Ghana? Again, does the condition also mean even if the doctor is at home and working, he should continue to draw gallons of oil? Hospital authorities must develop a plan so that doctors can only use coupons in exchange for oil used as part of work and not for other private and social events.
Doctors must be reminded that even socialist countries are no longer providing freebies for its Citizens because of the availability of scarce resources. They should be reminded of living some of the resources for future generations and stop behaving as guillotines.

Ok we have seen the doctors demand. What is the governments side of the supply? At the radio stations? Bring your position and the dialogue starts, not shouting at the radio station. In negotiations, all parties bring outrageous demands for a start, then you begin to talk. You don't sit down aloof shouting that one parties demand is too high, so am going to shout all over the place? Is it clear? We just saw two sensible governments, USA and Iraq negotiated a deal from a war position. What type of fools are these? You want doctors to start from 3 gallons and you reduce it to one? This where African governments fail and bring debts to their countries. Even Greece started from a NO bailout position but now IMF is pulling out from the EU compromise. This government will not sit down to think only bla bla bla. If you are always talking, you don't have time to think. Fools

At least when patients go to the hospital they get their treatment and get well.
I would rather pay for that than an incompetent, stealing and looting govt that is collapsing and has collapsed this country to boot.
There is sense in that if only you can think which Amaliba obviously, has lost that ability. A guy who describes high rise buildings as the reason for a collapsed economy and a depreciating currency is clear, would not in a million years develop his gray matter to the point to appreciate the issues being discussed.

If GMA have submitted a list of demands or negotiation points for government then why would each point not stand on its own merit? Did the GMA list gas subsidy from government or not? The shame of it all is that civil servants at government institutions have stayed loyal to a system that ignores their plight and rain insults on them even as most go months without pay. Maybe civil servants at the ministries should go on strike demanding free cars.
